Method and device for producing reverse threads @ The object of the invention is especially to produce the left and right threads on one and the same part, without the obligation to change the combs, if the comb holders and without requiring stopping the machine.
In addition, the invention aims to obtain a perfect concentration of the reverse threads of the same part.
To this end, the invention provides for keeping the same direction of rotation for the part to be threaded. It consists in making it undergo successively a forward translation, a full stroke advance, then a backward translation; the first and third of these three phases correspond respectively to obtaining the right-hand thread and the left-hand thread 1 of the part or vice-ver sa @
For this purpose, use is made of pairs of @ left and right thread combs which can be separated by a piece without thread.
Other characteristic details of the invention will emerge from the description of the drawings appended hereto.

example.
Figs. 1 to 6 represent the different positions of the part with respect to the combs during the successive phases of the work.
FIG. 7 represents a perspective view showing the relative situation of the comb holders and of the part.
Fig.1 shows part 4 in its starting position, it also shows the double comb made from one piece willow. 1 and 8 are reverse thread combs, 3 is used part without thread.
The f lg.2 and 3 represent the part during the first phase A carrying out the right-hand threading for example.
When the right-hand threading is complete, a mechanism not shown in the drawing causes the reed holder 5 (see fig. 7) to be removed, carrying the double reed it? 2, 5. The part 4 is then subjected to an empty translation to the end of the stroke. During the movement constituting phase B, the. part or the die contained its rotational movement, depending on whether a fixed die or a mobile die was used. After its completion, the piece occupies a new position shown in FIG. 4, where the left edge of the piece faces the right edge of the comb.
Figs. 5 and 6 show the part during the final phase C corresponding to the return of the part, carrying out left-hand threading.
It goes without saying that the present invention extends to the case where use would be made of two separate parts for the production of double combs 1 and 2 and of a

third part corresponding to interval 3 without thread.
In this case, during the outward and return phases of the part, an inactive comb could be set back relative to an active comb.
In fig.7, the trace X Y of the plane of symmetry of the pair of combs 1,2 is shown. In the device shown, this plane is perpendicular to the axis U V of advancement of the workpiece. In the form of a double comb shown in FIG. 7, the teeth of the combs are parallel, but it. is. obvious that they could make a certain angle between them.
