 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 liques acétone , 1 acidacétiqu , acide carboriciv4 les- quels en présence du mélange des gaz introduits , subit un ébranlement moléculaire avec formation de nombreux hydro- carbures'saturés et hydrocarbures diclyques,   Apres   plusieurs heures de ce traitement sous pression , on règle la sortie de ces gaz décomposés , pour les faire passer dans un tube chauffé-entre 400 et 500 degrés centigrades environ , conte- nant du nickel réduit en poudre ou en agglomérés mélangés de la ponce ou de l'argile , et du cuivre   métallique ,   en laissant passer en plus , un jet d'hydrogène et en faisant ensùite , condenser ce gaz total dans un réfrigérant a serpentins ;

  INDUSTRIAL PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF SYNTHETIC OIL.

   In an iron autoclave or any other suitable material capable of withstanding a pressure of 60 Kgs. at 600 degrees centigrade we introduce wood under all its forces, or also, rags, paper, cake, straw, cottons or any other similar organic substances, having already been treated beforehand with approximately 6 or 10% sulfuric acid of the weight of the material, with carbonate of lime or any other carbonate such as barium carbonate, magnesium, etc. etc.

   The autoclave is heated up to 550 centigrade, by any

 generally known heating means, a pressure of 50 Kgs is maintained. and introducing a mixture of acetylene gas and hydrogen prepared in advance by the decomposition of water by electrolysis or any other known means; the hydrogen will be sold to industry as a secondary product that cannot be used in the preparation. Obviously, the acetylene used can be obtained either by synthesis using hydrogen, or else by the decomposition of carbide or any other organic substance capable of forming acetylene gas.

   The mixture of acetylene and hydrogen gases is compressed! -. , before -son, introduction into the autoclave, a, a pressure of 150 Kgs; to200 Kgs. about .

   In the autoclave, the various gases released by the heat treatment are mainly methyl alcohols.

 liques acetone, 1 acidacétiqu, acid carboriciv4 which in the presence of the mixture of the gases introduced, undergoes a molecular shaking with the formation of numerous saturated hydrocarbons and diclyc hydrocarbons, After several hours of this treatment under pressure, one regulates the output of these decomposed gases, to pass them through a heated tube - between 400 and 500 degrees centigrade approximately, containing nickel reduced to powder or in agglomerates mixed with pumice or clay, and metallic copper, allowing passage in addition, a jet of hydrogen and thereby condensing this total gas in a coil condenser;

   this final product obtained is an aromatic oil of a reddish brown color, containing the various light and heavy hydrocarbons similar to those of natural crude oil.

   The final residue from the autoclave is a composition of carbon and lime which makes it possible to obtain, by electricity, the carbon necessary for the formation of acetylene.

  With several charges in several autoclaves, the operation becomes continuous, thus making it possible to manufacture a large quantity of synthetic petroleum. The water, contained in the organic materials used, undergoes decomposition, releasing the oxygen which can be recovered for industrial use.
