Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 automatic hydraulic press for the production of hats.

   The present improvement is essentially aimed at making the operation of the press completely automatic, eliminating any external intervention as soon as the press is set in motion for an operation. Another object of the invention is to ensure automatic regulation of the pressure of the fluid in the bell.

   These aims are achieved by the devices described below, with reference to the accompanying drawing by way of example, in which:
Fig.1 is a longitudinal section of the device ensuring automatic operation.

   Fig.2 is a longitudinal section of the device for automatically adjusting the pressure of the fluid in the bell.

   In the press according to the main patent, the worker has to open a valve for supplying pressurized fluid, then,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 when the two pistons (pressure piston and closing piston
 EMI2.1
 of the bell neck) had acted, and the fluid had filled the bell, he had to close this valve, then open a second for emptying the press. So there was always -

  81) 1 vnnt the present improvement (fig.l) the water or other fluid for pressure arrives through the pipe 1 in a valve body 2 whose valve 3 is integral with a piston 4 placed under the action of a calibrated spring 6, adjustable in tension by

 vi s 7. The oi: J the i ce 8 controlled by the valve, eg 3 communicates with the pipe 9 which, on the one hand, is connected to the pipe 10 leading

This valve 12 is also 1> olidated with a piston 13, placed under the action of the res - exits 14 r6; 11 '.ble through vi s 15, and it is used to additionally control the inlet of a pipe 16 (double acting valve' CI).

  The two pipions 4 and 13 each move in a cylinder body -

 driquee 17 and 13, above the pistons.

   The spring 6 being weaker than the spring 14, the operation is as follows:
In the position of the figure, which is that occupied by the components at the start of an operation, the two valves' are in their upper position, the valve 3 exposing the orifice 8 and the valve 12 exposing 11 and closing 16. The
 EMI2.7
 pipes and 5 'above the pistons, as well as the pipe 19 are at atmospheric prr-nnion and 21 is closed.

   The pressurized fluid arrives through 1, passes through 2, 8, 9 and fills the chamber 23 of the second valve; it flows by 10 towards the press, where it performs its various functions, that is to say: lifting of the main piston, therefore of the press plate, closing, by the small piston, of the clamping collar of the bell , then arrival

 meture J e 1 "0 fYJUpape 3. The water supply to the press stops.

   As the water continues to flow in at 5, the piston 13 eventually descends equally, which in the first place determines the opening of 16; the pressurized liquid in the press flows back by 10 and flows out by 16; when the press is opened, the valve 12 has come to close 11, thus preventing the water contained in the rubber from flowing out, and the members of the press automatically return to the starting position.

   To start a new operation, just open 21; the pressure at 5 -19 and 5 'drops, the springs 14 and 6 are released and return the components to the position of fig.l.

   The device of fig. 2 comprises a simple cylinder 25

 connected at one end to pipe 26 from the cylinder of the small piston (P 'in the main patent) and closed at the other end
 EMI3.4
 by a finned vi 27. From the key) of the pipe 26, the cylinder carries a seat 28 for a conical valve 29, the stem of which is

 tends f1Ui v "'nt the axis of the cylinder and ends with a piston 30 movable ctsnchcment in this cylinder. A calibrated rer.sort 31 is e'1'1pri') r1; 1é between this piston and the screw 27.

   This cylinder. is connected 1 "32 of 1" press by an orifice 33 made, in its pnroi, between the piston and the valve. When, by maneuvering the device of fig.l, the pressurized water is nmcnéc beyond the piston P 'it arrives, through the valve 29, the cylinder 25 and the orifice 33, in the bell 32; the pressure increases gradually, up to 3. what she exceeds the tension

   At this moment the piston moves in the direction of the arrow, which causes the valve to close, thus stopping the flow of fluid and giving in the dome the desired pressure and regulated by the tension of the spring 31. by this provision
