"Assembly for thermionic devices, in particular those with short waves".
In arrangements for thermionic devices, a tuned anode circuit is frequently used, for example for amplification. In this case, the anode circuit comprises a tuned circuit formed by a self-induction shunted by a capacitor. However, with the very high frequencies frequently used at present, the efficiency of this assembly is quite low, because the total capacity, which is in parallel with the self-induction, is relatively large. As a result, the external resistance is reduced and there is a decrease in efficiency.

The object of the invention is to increase the efficiency and it consists, for this purpose, of mounting the tuning capacitor in series with the choke, instead of mounting it in parallel with the latter.
The following description, given with reference to the appended drawing given by way of example, will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.
In the figure, a triode 1 comprises a cathode 2, a grid 3 and an anode 4. The anode circuit comprises a battery 5 in series with a reactance coil 6.
7 is the choke and 8 is a variable capacitor mounted in this case between the cathode and the end of the choke 7 which is not connected to the anode. 9 denotes the effective capacitance between the anode and the cathode. The tuned circuit is formed by elements 7, 8 and 9. Obviously, the reactance coil 6 can also pass directly from the positive terminal of the anode battery to the anode. However, in this case, the capacity of the oscillating circuit is slightly larger as a result of the inherent capacity of the battery-reactance coil combination, which is in parallel with the internal capacity of the triode.
The new assembly also has the advantage that one of the plates of the tuning capacitor can be connected to the cathode, therefore to the earth, at least in most of the known types of assembly.
