Jusqu'ici, on a bien établi des robinets dans lesquels.,, la pre@sion de l'eau applique le clapet sur son siège, mais ces dispositifs sont sujets à des vibrations importantes et produiè sent en particulier des coups de bélier dans les conduites;
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Compressible caulk valve and anti-vibration valve.
The present invention relates to a valve with compressible caulk and anti-vibration valve, characterized by the elimination of the usual stuffing box and the use of the composability of the packing for sealing leaks which may occur by the operating mechanism. ; it is also characterized by the valve mounting system making it possible to adjust its degree of elasticity in order to obtain the total suppression of vibrations.
The accompanying drawings show schematically, by way of nonlimiting examples, two embodiments of the invention.
Figure I shows a normal straight valve operated by means of a screw with a very inclined thread, while figure 2 shows a angle valve operated by means of a pressure device.
Hitherto, taps have been well established in which the pressure of water applies the valve to its seat, but these devices are subject to significant vibrations and in particular produce water hammers in the pipes. pipes;
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
this is why almost all the currently existing types of taps consist of a device coming through a passage opening and their mechanism must overcome the pressure.
The object of the present invention is a valve in which the pressure assists in closing and the leaks of which at height from the operating device are eliminated by a new arrangement of the nut.
Occupies the appended drawings show, a valve is constituted by a straight body I, as shown in Figure I, or square as shown in Figure 2, that of any other shape, which includes in the passage duct the seat 2 of a valve.
This valve consists of a washer 3, preferably in the form of a torus, made of plastic or elastic and compressible by its clamping between the head of a screw 4 and its nut or its washer 5.
The elasticity of the valve can be adjusted by tightening the nut 5 to a greater or lesser extent on the screw 4.
When the desired elasticity has been reached, the nut can be locked on its screw by any known means.
This valve is pushed against its seat by the pressure force and this force can be supplemented, if necessary, by a light spring 6.
The maneuver is ensured by pressing a point, preferably conical and rounded at its end 7, this point possibly ending for example either with a cylindrical rod 8 actuated by a pressure lever 9, as shown in FIG. 2, or by a rod 10 on which is made a thread II and operated by a handle 12 as shown in Figure I.
The seal around the operating rod is achieved by the arrangement of the compression screw 13 which penetrates through its end 14 in the form of a wedge into the material lining the box.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
te 15 thus replacing the stuffing box usually used in standard type valves.
This box 15 is lined, by casting or by any other means, with a compressible material such as, for example, an anti-friction metal, an alloy mouj a fatty braided, so that the descent of the compression screw 13 produces, by action of the cylindrical wedge carried by this screw, a tightening of the packing of the box 15, both against the screw and / against the walls of the box, thus sealing all the leaks of the operating device and forming a caulk .
This compression screw is preferably made up of a threaded part screwed into the body of the valve and is extended by a thinned wedge-shaped cylindrical part which penetrates into the compressible material lining the box.
Thanks to the adjustment by compression of the elastic material of the valve, the vibration under the action of the internal pressure is thus obtained by varying the compressive resistance of the elastic material up to the point where the internal pressure n has more action on it.
This result allows the use of the valve, in such a way that the pressure presses it on its seat and, thanks to the disposition of the caulking nut, we obtain an absolute suppression of the leaks occurring around it. operating rod by realizing thanks to these improvements a valve answering to all uses.
It goes without saying that the shapes of the valve body, the nozzles, the assembly details of its various parts, the raw materials used both for the valve and for the valve and the caulk, the various fittings or other tightening arrangements. of the compression wedge, can vary without departing from the scope of the present invention.
