<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

IMPROVEMENTS IN MEANS FOR TENDING OR UNFINISHING
FABRICS, ESPECIALLY ORAVATES.
The invention relates to the means suitable for stretching or straightening fabrics, and in particular ties *
Its main purpose is to establish these means in such a way that they respond better than hitherto to the requirements of practice.
To this end it consists in constituting on the one hand an elastic frame suitable for being introduced between the folds of the tie and suitably tightening them and on the other hand in equipping this frame with elements such that one obtains a slightly greater tension of the portions of the tie which are the most wrinkled, in particular of the parts which were used to constitute the knot.
Apart from this main arrangement, it also preferably consists in making said elements movable to, relative to / or on the frame, so as to be able to modify at will, depending on the crumpled portion of the tie, the place where the greatest voltage will be applied.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
And so that one can clearly understand how these arrangements can be practically implemented, two preferred embodiments of an instrument in accordance with the invention, shown by way of example in Figures, will be described in more detail below. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing.
In this drawing, 1 denotes an elastic frame made up of a spring wire bypassed so that it has two branches 1, joined together by a portion 2 normally tending to separate the branches 1 from one of the legs. other, the portion 2 can also receive any desired shape, for example a shape suitable for allowing it to be used as a handle or handle for the instrument.
@ And so that the instrument provides on the most wrinkled portions of the tie (for example the one used to make the knot) a slightly more marked tension, or else, as in freeze 1, certain portions are slightly curved branches 1, such as portions 3, for example, or even better, as in FIG. 2, is threaded on each of the straight branches 1, an elongate, movable member 4, preferably shaped as a spindle and moving there with gentle friction, this member can thus be brought to any desired location of the branch corresponding to the portion crumpled tie.
And we will thus obtain an instrument which, inserted between the folds of the tie, will be specific to the. straighten without damaging the fabric or altering the color.
Although the instrument has been described more specifically as a means for unraveling ties, it is also well suited for other uses, in which portions of fabric must be kept taut for performing repair work or the like.
