<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
surface dudit plateau.
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Universal household machine,
The present invention relates to a household machine which, without changing the general construction, gives the possibility, in a jiffy, of changing the various utensils and thus transforming the machine into various household machines known per se, such as that for example machines or apparatus for preparing pasta, ice cream, butter or whipped cream, for passing groats, semolina, etc., for cleaning flour, for grating and cutting into pieces or slices, vegetables or other foods. With any of the utensils or tools fitted in the machine at any given time, the machine works as if in each case it were a special machine, created exclusively for the job in question.

This result is achieved by the new machine construction described below.
The accompanying drawings represent different embodiments of the machine, with different utensils or tools.
Fig.l is an elevation of the machine, with knives as tools.
Fig. 2 is a plan of the machine according to figure 1.
Fig. 5 shows the cover in section, with device for changing the cutting height.
Fig.4 is a plan of the knife disc with the knife holders.
Fig. 5 is a section taken along the line V-V of Fig. 4.
Fig. 6 shows the modified machine for the preparation of ice cream.
Fig.7 shows the machine arranged for kneading dough.
Fig. 8 represents the machine for pouring or passing, for example, porridge.
Fig. 9 represents the machine with beaters or agitators for beating, for example, snow eggs.
The new machine essentially consists of a cover plate 1 fixed to a support bracket 2. This bracket can in any suitable way - for example using a set screw 3 - be fixed to the table top. The plate 1 serves as a cover for a container 4 which is fixed under it so as to be able to be removed, and which receives the product or material to be treated. On the top side the cover 1 is provided with a hopper 5 through which the product, for example vegetables, arrives at the knives to be cut into pieces or slices (fig.l).
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The cover 1 further accommodates the operating mechanism which works on a shaft 6 which is guided in said cover and to which it is easy to attach the utensil to be employed in each case, so that it is also easy to remove it. remove again. In the machine according to the drawing, the control mechanism consists of a bevel gear 7.8, set in motion by means of a crank 9. Instead of a crank, an electric motor supplied by the motor can be used for control. a source of electrical energy, with the interposition of an appropriate force transmission means.
The shaft 6, which is coupled with the tool or working utensil, can also be controlled directly by the crank 9, as shown in figure 7, where for this purpose the upper end of the shaft is raised. square-shaped 10.
In the cutting machine according to figure 1, the control shaft 6 passes through the cover plate 1, and it carries below the latter a horizontal counter-plate 11 (figs. 3 and 4) which is interchangeable, and which will be provided with utensils or cutting tools according to the use in each case.
Figures 3, 4 and 5 show a special cutting plate with adjustable knives. The counter-plate 11 is formed by a circular disc, provided with several radial openings 12. Under this disc which is held at a certain distance by a coil spring 13, there is placed a knife holder 14 provided with arms of corresponding number. the number of radial openings. On these arms are fixed the knives 15. The counter-plate 11 and the knife holder 14 are tongue-and-groove attached to the shaft 6, so as to be able to move axially. The arms of the knife holder jut out into the openings of the counter plate. The cutting edge of the knives is located at a certain distance above the
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
surface of said plate.
It is this distance which determines the thickness of the slice removed by the knives. The shaft 6 is at the top provided with a screw thread 6 'and a nut 16. When this nut is turned, the shaft 6 and with it the knife holder 14 are raised or lowered, so that the diatan - that between the cutting edges of the knives and the surface of the disc 11 increases or decreases, thus influencing the cutting height.
In Figure 6, the machine is shown in the form of a stirring device for the preparation of ice cream.
Here the control shaft 17 which is mounted so as to be able to rotate in the cover plate 1, and which carries one of the toothed bevel wheels 7 is here hollow. It is at its lower end which pierces the cover plate 1, provided with claws 47 which penetrate into corresponding recesses of a collar of the axis 19 of the agitator 18. The axis 19 of the agitator passes through. through the hollow shaft, and a threaded sleeve 20, screwing onto a corresponding threaded part of said shaft 19, prevents the latter from rotating in the hollow shaft. The axis 19 therefore necessarily participates in the rotating movement of the hollow shaft 17 or of the bevel gear 7 wedged on this shaft.
In addition, the fully screwed bush 20 holds the claws 47 in engagement with the recesses of the collar of the shaft 19 carrying the agitator 18. The latter moves in an inner container 21 in the form of a drum, and the end lower part of its axis is supported in a hollow in the bottom 22 serving as a crapaudine.
Stops 23, formed at the bottom of the main container 4 of the machine, hold the inner container 21 in its regular position. The bottom of the main container 4 has in the middle a corresponding hollow 24 in which fits the slider 22 of the inner container 21. The annular space 25 can be filled with ice or with the cooling agent.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
A tab 26 which projects into the hopper 5 prevents the inner container from rotating. The axis 19 of the agitator, which passes through the hollow shaft and again through the threaded sleeve, is at its free upper end made in the form of a square 10. On this square we can place the crank 9 and thus actuate directly agitator 18, eliminating the bevel gear 7,8.
In the case shown in the drawing, the agitator; is mounted on the axle so that it can be removed; fixing is done for example using a bolt, a pressure screw, etc. In such a case it is easy to exchange the agitator for another utensil, which is then fixed appropriately on the axis 19 which passes through the hollow shaft and which is coupled with it. It is also possible to eliminate the slider, since the axis 19 dams the hollow shaft 17 which carries the bevel gear 7 is sufficiently guided.
FIG. 7 represents the household machine in the form of a dough kneading apparatus, and that with a particular mode of connection of the control shaft with the axis of the agitator. The control shaft 27, which is shown here in the form of a solid shaft, crosses with its lower end. re the cover plate 1. This shaft end is established for example as constituting one of the parts of a bayonet seal 28,29, for the attachment of various utensils, such as for example a kneading stirrer shown in drawing. The shaft 30 of the apparatus is, at its lower end, held in a hollow 31 in the bottom of the container 4, this hollow serving as a slider.
On said shaft 30, there are arranged stirring fins 32,33, twisted into a helix and being able to be adjusted vertically; these fins are provided with scraping surfaces 34,35 which slide along the wall of the container, and for-

You are still transverse arms 36 and 37. These arms have an angular profile, one of the edges of which is oriented in the direction of the rotational movement. Since pasty masses - as we know - are difficult to set in motion, the crank 9 is installed on the square 27 'of the control shaft 27, so that the control is carried out directly and not through the intermediary. bevel gear wheels.
The lower wing or vane moves the dough inward and upward, while the upper vane moves it downward and inward, so that the dough is set in helical motion and is perfectly worked. through the cooperation of the transverse arms.
In Figure 8, the hooks 38, which at the same time secure the cover plate 1 to the container 4, hold a concave screen 39 which is installed in this container. At the lower end of the control shaft 27 is fixed an arm 40 carrying a rolling roller 41 and a doctor blade 42, intended to pass gruel, etc., which can then be immediately subjected to further processing. in the container 4.
According to Figure 9, attached to the full drive shaft 27 a beater 43 capable of tilt adjustment; by means of the crank 9 and by means of the bevel gear 7,8, this beater is imparted a rapid rotational movement, with a view to preparing, for example, snow eggs.
In the drawings, the new household machine is shown as working with different utensils.
It is obvious that we can also use other utensils than those shown in the drawings, the control shaft and its coupling with the utensils can be established naturally in one or the other embodiment.

among those described above and shown in the drawings.
