 EMI1.1

  F'tSc8c8c8c&.&&Cc8c8c&8cc;&&:e'cufcC&:cPCBccS'c&8wC8e

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Forged or cast iron horseshoe with easily interchangeable plate-shaped studs.
 EMI1.1

  F'tSc8c8c8c &. && Cc8c8c &8cc; &&: e'cufcC &: cPCBccS'c & 8wC8e
It has already been proposed to replace the screw studs with studs in the form of a truncated cone.

   Although, in this type, the fixing turns out to be quite easy, one encounters difficulties when it comes to removing the tenon of a worn crampon.

   It is the same for the steel claws, in the form of a plate that is placed in slots made in the horseshoe.

   The present invention shows a new way for the simple and radical elimination of said drawbacks.

   To do this, steel spike plates are used, the tenons of which have the form of laterally projecting nipples, partially pushed back.

   These nipples are pushed back laterally to about 3/4 of their length, starting from the free upper edge of the tenon, and are then pushed backwards so that the protruding part is only halfway through. , the length of the nipple, and so that the front surface thereof has a slight inclination.

   This backflow towards the arxière determines an increase in the thickness of the projecting part.

   Thanks to these features, the stud plates are perfectly fixed and can be easily removed, even

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 when the tenon is worn to the walking surface of the horseshoe.

   To do this, it is necessary to provide, in the horseshoes, recesses, for example, in the shape of a cross, the faces of which widen, somewhat conically towards the walking surface.

   The tenon, the side faces of which adopt the corresponding conical shape, is introduced with hammer blows into the long branches of the cruciform slot and the stud is then placed against the inclined face of one of the short branches of the slot.

   If the lateral tension is insufficient in the post, it can be increased by pushing the pin laterally into the post, for example by means of a punch.

   When it is desired to remove the stud plate, the stud is driven out in a straight line and the stud is thus easily removed using a hook tool.

   For perfect lateral fixation in the horseshoe, the stud plates adopt the shape of a T; in the case of particularly strong irons, the branches of the T are very long so that they can be bent towards the middle.

   This embodiment also makes it possible to provide, between said curved parts, pieces of rubber, leather or plates, etc., which will constitute a good anti-slip.

   The appended drawing represents, by way of example, the object of the present invention.

     Fig.l is a view of a single toothed crampon.

   Fig. 2 shows a reinforced crampon in front view.

   Fig. 3 shows a reinforced crampon viewed from above.

   Fig. 4 shows a reinforced crampon in side view.

   Fig. 5 shows a partial top view (walking surface) of a horseshoe.

   The horseshoe 1, and possibly also the attached plate 2, have cruciform recesses with slightly conical faces. The tenon 3 is placed in the branches 4 of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 cross and the projecting stud 5 of the tenon is placed against the inclined face 6 of one of the branches 7 of the slot. The stud has a nose 8 where the striking tool is applied.

   The spike plate takes the shape of a T. The branches 9 can be single and toothed or smooth, or else could be double by virtue of long branches 10 curved towards the middle.

  In the latter case, the ends are curved slightly outwards, so as to form a nose 11, which offers the advantage of a good grip in the ground and prevents jamming of the horseshoe ... in tram rails. 12 designates a non-slip member fixed thereto by clamping.
