 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 composante de copulation hétérogène spéciale.

   Exemple.

  "Process for the production of solid dyes on ethers, salts or cellulose ethers-oxides, and products obtained by this process". The subject of the present invention is a process for the production of solid dyes on ethers-salts or cellulose ethers-oxides and the products obtained by this process.

   Methods are already known for the production of solid dyes on ethers-salts and cellulose etheroxides; in these processes, an aromatic compound, comprising a diazotizable amino group, is applied to the ether in question, then the aromatic compound is dinitrogenated on the fiber and an azo dye is developed in the process.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 both the product of the diazotization by a coupling component, such as for example 2,3-hydroxynaphthoic acid or beta-naphthol.

   However, the Applicant has found that it is possible, in a much simpler manner, to achieve solid dyes on ethers-salts or cellulose ethers-oxides, if an azo dye free of charge is applied to the ether in question. sulphonic groups and comprising in the molecule a diazotizable aminogenic group and a free position, which is suitable for coupling or else if the azo dye in question is dissolved in the ether-salt or the ether-oxide of cellulose, which it is then dinitrogenated and carbonless is brought about by subjecting, where appropriate, the diazomic compounds which have formed to the influence of an acid reducing agent or having an alkaline action.

     The coupling can be carried out either by adding to the diazotized bath the agent reducing acidity or offering an alkaline action, as soon as the diazotization is complete, or by introducing the diazotized material into a special bath containing the agent in question. .

   The azo dye can be applied to the fiber in an acidic or neutral solution or suspension. As for the diazotization, it is brought about by means of the usual agents. The azo dye can also be added to the dope.

   If compared with the known method, the method, object of the invention, is distinguished by its simple mode of application, which makes the subsequent treatment superfluous by means of a developer and, therefore, a bath of copulation with a special copulation component.

  In addition, the dyes obtained by the new process exceed in their fastness to wet processing the known dyes obtained by using a wet process.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 special heterogeneous copulation component.

   Example.

   At a temperature of about 80 ° C., 1 kg. Of rayon thread with acetate is treated for one hour with a suspension containing 50 g of water in 25 l. of a finely subdivided azo dye which corresponds to the following constitution.

 (This odorant is obtained by coupling 1-amnrn-netho $ y. 4-nitrobenzene dinitrogen in an acidic medium with 2-amino-5hydroxy-naphthalene and by subsequent reduction of the ni 'tro group). Then, it is rinsed. wire and introduced into a bath containing in 30 l.

   of cold water 30 grams of sodium azotite and 80 cm3 of concentrated hydrochloric acid * After one hour, the diazotization is complete * Then, the material is centrifuged and, in order to develop the dye, it is introduced into a cold bath containing per 30 1. water 80 cm3 of 25% ammonia. Then, everything is centrifuged and dried.

  A black-brown dye is obtained exhibiting good fastness properties and particularly very good fastnesses to wet treatments * the following table indicates a certain number of other dyes which can be prepared according to the present invention:

RESUME. ABSTRACT. The present invention relates to 1) A process for the preparation of solid dyes on ethers-salts or cellulosic ethers-oxides, which process consists in applying to these ethers or in dissolving therein an azo dye free of sulphonic groups and comprising an aminogenic group in the molecule diazotizable and a free position suitable for coupling, then diazotizing the compound and causing self-copying by treating the resulting disazo compounds, if any, with an acid reducing or alkaline active agent. 2) As new industrial products: ethers-salts and ethers-oxides of cellulose as such or in the form of. manufactured products and which <Desc / Clms Page number 7> have been dyed or printed by the process specified in 1), and the application of these products in industry.
