<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

"ENDLESS CONVEYOR AGGLUTINATION APPARATUS".
The invention relates to an improvement in blow-molding or roasting devices, for example Lurgi agglutination devices, in which grid carriages loaded with material to be roasted or agglutinated are passed in a continuous series. endless on suction boxes, 'roasting or agglutination taking place after ignition, under suction of air through the load * The unloading of the agglutinated product takes place at the end of the upper channel, - by a descending movement of the grid carriages following a semi-circular curve or the like, - to which the lower track joins, on which the grid carriages are returned, in the inverted position, to the beginning of the upper track.
On the latter,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
they are lifted from the lower track by a pair of toothed wheels, the teeth of which grip 4 rollers, provided at the front and rear on both sides of the grid trolley. A disadvantage of this device consists in that the carriages, - at the point where they are pushed by the pair of toothed wheels on the upper track, - move in a direction perpendicular to each other, in that sense that. this place the lower and front edge of the carriage entering precisely into the upper track, but still occupying an oblique position, is pressed against the rear wall of the previous carriage being already in horizontal position.
During its subsequent entry into the upper track, the first carriage slides slowly downward on the rear wall of the preceding carriage, until it in turn reaches the horizontal position. This sliding of the edge of a following carriage on the rear wall of the preceding carriage causes heavy wear and corresponding deterioration.
Often there is also a delay in the downward sliding of the carriage, - entering the upper track, - on the rear wall of the preceding carriage, so that it frequently happens that several successive carriages at the same time occupy a position slightly inclined and are thus propelled over a certain length of the upper track by the pair of toothed wheels. In this position, the slideways of the grid trolleys do not apply entirely but only by their rear edge on the sliding rails of the suction boxes. This results in a suction of strong inflows of air and a strong wear of the tracks. sliding, or slides.
In addition, particles of the load coming from the loading device at the beginning of the upper track, can fall between the front faces of the carriages, since due to their oblique position these faces do not apply in a way. fully sealed against each other.
These charge particles prevent
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
then during the subsequent advancement of the carriages, the establishment of a sealed contact between the latter, so that there is still a suction of inlets of air through the slots between the carriages. in order to eliminate these faults, it has already been proposed to provide an arrangement such that the carriage entering the upper track does not transmit the propulsion of the pair of toothed wheels to the preceding trolleys until it has already placed itself in a horizontal position. Thus, the pair of toothed wheels have already been moved back inwards, so that their teeth only grip the rollers of two carriages, namely, of the one who enters the upper track, and of the one who quits. - you just the lower way.
The carriages located between these two carriages, on the periphery of the pair of toothed wheels, run outside the reach of the toothed wheels, in a guide device and are propelled upwards in the guide device by the thrust of the carriage leaving the lower track and being in mesh with the pair of wheels entering the upper track and tees, while the carriage // gripped by the @ pair of cogwheels determines the propulsion of the series of trolleys on the upper track.
In this case, the arrangement is such that between the first carriage entering -: up in the upper track and gripped by the pair of cogwheels, and the following carriage - '. Which still rises, there is a gap which closes only when that next carriage has entered the upper track and engages the teeth of the gear pair. Although, with this arrangement the front faces of the carriages are spared, - the teeth of the pair of toothed wheels undergo increased wear, since there is always only one pair of teeth (or at most two) which must support all the weight of the trolleys ascending from the lower track to the upper track.
In another known device, employing a pair of toothed wheels operating normally, called a lifting wheel, - with which each carriage therefore rests, during its ascent of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the lower track on the upper track, on tooth blocks s, at the point where the carriage begins to enter the upper track, a pressure wheel disposed elastically and acting from above on the upper edge of the walls of the carriage . This pressure wheel is intended to tilt the front part of the carriage around its downward travel rollers, until it occupies a horizontal position, thus avoiding premature application of the front lower edge of the carriage on the rear wall of the previous carriage.
However, after some wear this device no longer acts in a certain way.
A later proposal sought to. obtain the same effect as that obtained with the previous device by the use of a pushing device acting from the bottom upwards, which is set in motion by the lifting wheels. On the shaft of the lifting wheels is provided for this purpose a pair of cam discs, with which cooperates a roller mounted at the lower end of a pair of crutches.
The crutches are each rigidly connected to a lever arm mounted in an oscillating manner on a fixed pivot, and also carry at their upper end a roller) The cams of the discs mounted on the shaft of the lifting wheels are arranged so that A cam hole is immediately in front of the roller of the pair of crutches when an agglutination cart has arrived just in front of the top of the pair of lifting wheels.
During the subsequent rotation of the lifting wheels the pair of crutches is pushed upwards by the pair of cams, at the height of the cams, so that the upper roller of the pair of crutches presses against the underside of the trolley which just passes and lifts it. µ. the rear by a corresponding value, to be propelled in this position, by the teeth of the lifting wheels, in the right track. This device also does not work with the necessary certainty in service, and moreover clutters the control device.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
Finally, it has already been proposed, with a view to an accelerated recovery of the trolleys ascending and entering the upper track, to have a template on both sides of the track, on which the rear wheels of the trolleys mounted according to their widened rolling faces. for this purpose, so that the carriage was already in a horizontal position before it was pressed by the lifting riser against the series of carriages on the upper track.
However, widening the wheels or casters of the trolleys also requires widening the entire frame of the agglitination device, the price of which is thereby increased to an extent which may cast doubt on the economy of the entire plant.
By the present invention the disadvantages of the known devices are eliminated, and the desired success is achieved by the simplest means, which no longer charge the cost of the installation at all. According to the invention there is also a template at the entrance to the upper track, on each of the two sides of the latter. But the two jigs are located so close to the track that the two pairs of casters of each cart must pass over them. An enlargement of the rolling faces of the rear pair of rollers and of the frame is no longer necessary.
The guide device in which the rollers of the carriages travel during the ascent to the upper track, and the running surfaces of the jigs are formed in such a way that, when the carriage is mounted on the jigs, it is only its rear pair of rollers which are engaged with the teeth of the pair of elevating wheels, and that only after the cart has been raised horizontally on the jigs, the anterior rollers are again gripped by the teeth of the lifting wheels, while the rear castors are free.
Only from this moment, that is to say, after its complete recovery, the carriage is pressed against the previous carriage, and it is only from this moment that it intervenes in the propulsion of the upper series of carriages. Apart from the two templates and an appropriate shaping of the track of the templates, nothing is therefore necessary according to the invention to achieve the advantageous result
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
sought after. Above all, there is nothing to change from the grid trolleys, which are expensive in themselves. Likewise, the execution of the guide device and of the pair of lifting toothed wheels does not entail costs greater than what is normal.
The carts at. grid can be passed over the suction boxes in the known manner, on sliding rails, or by means of wheels on rolling rails. 0u, one can simultaneously provide sliding rails and running rails, each of which receives a portion of the weight of the rack trolleys.
The accompanying drawings represent by way of non-limiting example an embodiment of the present invention, namely:
Figure I, a side view of the elevator wheel and adjacent parts of the endless conveyor agglutination device according to the present invention.
Figure 2. a plan view ...
By 1 are designated the grid trolleys, which are lifted by the lifting wheel 2 on the upper sliding track 3.
The grid trolleys are prevented from falling off the lifting wheel by the guide rail 4. Each grid trolley has a pair of front rollers 5, and a pair of rear rollers 6, which are engaged by the teeth 7 of the roller. lifting wheel. By $ is designated the template rail according to the invention, while 9 designates the part of the agglutination device to which the template rail is attached. Without the gauge rail 8, the grid trolley would rest in its position a by both the front and rear rollers on the lifting wheel, that is to say that in its position a it would be directed obliquely upwards and forward.
Considering that at this point the propulsion of all the carriages, grid on the upper track is transmitted by this carriage alone, it should exert this thrust in this oblique position. Thanks to the gauge rail 8, the grid carriage is oriented in its nosition a.-as shown in the drawing, - in a direction that is already completely horizontal and therefore begins to transmit the propulsion when it is already in a horizontal position.
