Le dessin annexé représente schématiquement une forme de réalisation, donnée à titre d'exemple, d'une motocyclette conforme à l'invention. Dans ce dessin: Fig.l montre la partie arrière de la motocyclette, la caisse du si de-car enlevée ;
Fig.2 montre la disposition du ressort de torsion et de l'arbre de commande de la roue du side-car;
Fig.3 est une coupe pratiquée dans le carter du mécanisme de la roue latérale;

MOTORCYCLE WITH ACTUATED SIDE-CAR WHEEL.
In motorcycles which carry heavy loads in a sidecar, it is desirable to control not only the rear wheel of the motorcycle, but also the wheel of the sidecar.
Control of the sidecar wheel presents considerable difficulties for various reasons. First of all, the connection of the motor mechanism with the rear wheel of the motorcycle is difficult to achieve.
These difficulties are further increased owing to the fact that the wheel of the sidecar is disposed forward with respect to the rear wheel of the motorcycle, in order to obtain more favorable loading conditions for the various wheels. A control of the sidecar wheel mounted on the same axle as the rear wheel of the motorcycle, by a direct control shaft could in no way give satisfaction.
The invention makes it possible to produce a motorcycle with an actuated side-car wheel, which does not have the drawbacks mentioned, and provides a simple control solution from the oonstructive point of view, which can be adapted to all operating conditions.
The invention consists, in principle, of mounting behind the mechanism.

control mechanism or motor, a differential, making it possible to actuate both the rear wheel and the wheel of the car helper. This differential offers the possibility of actuating, thanks to an appropriate transmission ratio, the rear wheel and the wheel of the side-car with different torques. In this way, the control can be adapted to different load conditions. The differential can also be fitted with a locking device, so that the sidecar wheel control is positive or it can be completely disconnected. In this way, the motorcycle can, after having detached the sidecar, in any case be used as a solo machine.
This differential locking device can be set up so as to be operated by hand or by foot, or else to operate automatically.
The presence of this differential makes it possible to offset the sidecar axle with respect to that of the rear wheel of the motorcycle, the differential spanning the offset of the axles.
The differential is operated by the cardan shaft of the driving wheel of the motorcycle and in turn actuates the rear wheel through a rear wheel mechanism and, on the other hand, it operates the wheel of the side- because via a side shaft and a side wheel mechanism. The side wheel mechanism makes it possible, in a simple way, to make the sidecar wheel oscillate. The side wheel mechanism housing is then established as a support for the sidecar wheel and is pivotally mounted on the side shaft. To ensure the suspension of the wheel of the side-car, the invention provides for the use of a torsion bar fixed to the frame of the motorcycle and which, by means of a vertical arm, supports the casing. of the side wheel mechanism.
Thanks to the particular arrangement of the control of a sidecar wheel according to the invention, a motorcycle is obtained which is suitable for transporting heavy loads and which has good road holding.

The accompanying drawing schematically shows an embodiment, given by way of example, of a motorcycle in accordance with the invention. In this drawing: Fig.l shows the rear part of the motorcycle with the si-car body removed;
Fig.2 shows the arrangement of the torsion spring and the sidecar wheel drive shaft;
Fig.3 is a section taken in the casing of the mechanism of the side wheel;
Fig.4 is a top plan view of the motorcycle.
From the control mechanism 1 of the driving wheel of the motorcycle is detached rearwardly a cardan shaft 2 going to the differential 3. The differential 3 actuates the rear wheel 5 through the mechanism 4 of the rear wheel. A side shaft 6 connects the mechanism of the side wheel 7 with the differential 3. The mechanism of the side wheel 7 is surrounded by a housing 8, serving as a support for the wheel 9 of the sidecar. The lateral shaft 6 is advantageously housed in the hollow part 10 of the frame. The wheel of the sidecar 9 can oscillate around the side shaft 6. To ensure the suspension, a torsion bar 11 is used which is fixed to the inner face of the frame of the motorcycle and which supports the housing 8 of the motorcycle. mechanism 7 of the side wheel, via a vertical arm 12.
The torsion bar 11 can also be mounted, in a protected manner, in the part 10 of the frame.
Thanks to this arrangement of the mechanism of the side wheel 7 and of the mechanism 4 of the rear wheel, it is possible to shift by a certain value, A, the wheel of the sidecar 9 relative to the rear wheel of the motorcycle and achieve this results in a favorable distribution of the load on the various wheels. By suitably choosing the number of teeth of the differential wheels, the result is obtained that the rear wheel 5 and the wheel 9 of the side-car are actuated with different moments or torques of rotation depending on the required load.

The differential is advantageously fitted with a device for locking the differential, 13.
The control established in accordance with the invention for a sidecar wheel can be applied directly to a motorcycle as long as the frame thereof is of suitable construction.
