 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

   L'invention a pour but d'obvier à cet inconvénient.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fig. 2 en est une vue de côté

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

  Friction wheel transmission mechanism, especially for machine tools.

   The invention relates to a transmission mechanism with friction wheels, intended in particular for machine tools. It has already been proposed to adjust the adhesion pressure in these transmissions as a function of the torque transmitted. Such regulating devices are provided for the right-hand and left-hand rotation of the machine.

   They are based on the constructive idea of constituting the shaft of the friction wheel to be applied under pressure, by two elements interconnected by a coupling, which comprise on a shaft element two inclined surfaces of opposite pitches and on the 'other element

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 a drive spindle which, during rotation in either direction, presses on one or the other inclined surface and thus advances the friction plate mounted on the shaft, so as to produce the adhesive pressure.

   If the drive spindle has play against inclined surfaces, whether due to imprecise manufacturing or due to wear of the friction surfaces, it occurs when the direction of rotation is changed. , that is, on passing the drive spindle from one inclined surface to the other, a lost motion that causes shock and results in accelerated wear of the drive spindle and surface inclined.

   The object of the invention is to obviate this drawback.

  According to the invention, only one of the inclined surfaces is rigidly connected to the shaft element which carries it, while the other inclined surface, having an opposite pitch, is constituted by a buttonhole formed in a part which can turn, but not move longitudinally on this shaft member, for example in a socket, which the drive spindle can couple to the shaft member. When the rotation occurs in the direction in which the drive spindle bears against the inclined surface rigidly connected to the shaft member, the drive spindle detaches the bushing from the shaft member carrying it and l 'drives in the direction of rotation, so that the inclined surface formed on the sleeve always bears against the drive spindle.

  When a change in the direction of rotation then occurs, the drive spindle immediately bears against the inclined surface formed on the sleeve, so that the transmission of the force takes place without shock.

   The connection between the rotating part (bush) and the shaft element which carries it is produced by the fact that the rotating part bears with adhesion pressure on

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 the tree element. So that the force transmission takes place immediately when the direction of rotation of the drive shaft is changed, the friction surfaces producing the coupling between the rotating part and the shaft element are shaped with a high coefficient of friction, advantageously by lining the two friction surfaces with fine teeth.

   According to the invention, with friction wheel transmissions, which are constituted by two parallel friction plates and by a friction member movable radially between these two plates, the radial movable friction member riot is executed in such a way that 'it can move freely in the axial direction. To this end, the bearing of this friction member is mounted by means of connecting rods so as to be able to pivot on a transverse axis disposed laterally with respect to the axis of rotation of the friction plates.

   The accompanying drawings show an exemplary embodiment of the invention.

   Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of the transmission mechanism,
Fig. 2 is a side view
Fig. 3 is a separate view of the device for adjusting the torque, shown in a different operating position than in FIG. 2, and
Fig. 4 is a schematic view of the two inclined surfaces.

   In the exemplary embodiment shown, the friction transmission mechanism serves to transmit the power of a motor 3 to a shaft 10. It consists of two friction plates 1 and 2 and a friction member, mounted between those. here, consisting of two friction plates 4 and 5 linked together @

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 rigidly by a shaft 7. The bearing of the shaft 7 can pivot on an axis 6 with the interposition of two connecting rods 8.

   This axis 6 has the shape of a threaded shaft mounted in bearings
9 and can be rotated at. using a hand wheel.

   By means of the threaded shaft, the shaft 7 can be moved transversely to the plates 4 and 5 to change the transmission ratio. Because the bearing can pivot on the axis 6, the friction plates 4 and 5 still bear with the same pressure against the plates 1 and 2 despite the wear.

   The driven shaft is formed by the shaft element 10 carrying the plate 2 and by a shaft element 13.

   The shaft elements 10 and 13 are mounted in ball bearings 11 and 12. They can be interconnected by a coupling. This coupling is carried out as follows:
The shaft element 13 has at its upper end the form of a sleeve 14 which surrounds the lower end of the shaft element 10. It has a collar 15. A transverse pin 17 fixed in the shaft 10 crosses at its ends triangular windows 18 of the socket 14, which has an inclined surface below 19. The spindle
17 also enters a buttonhole 21 which is formed in a socket 20, rotatable relative to the shaft elements 10 and 13 and which has an inclination opposite to that of the inclined surface 19, but may however have the same pitch as that -this.

   The bush 20 surrounds the bush 14 and it rests on the collar 15. Its upper edge bears against the lower outer ring of the ball bearing 11.

   As a result, it can rotate, but cannot significantly move longitudinally.

   The transmission mechanism to. friction works as follows:

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

Using the threaded shaft 6, the position of the friction member 4, 5 is adjusted radially with respect to the plates 1 and 2 so as to obtain the desired transmission ratio between the motor 3 and the shaft 10. When the motor 3 turns counterclockwise, the plate 2 turns clockwise, that is to say in the direction of the arrow (Fig.l). The drive spindle 17 is clamped against the inclined surface 19. It drives the bush 14 and the shaft 13 in the direction of the arrow x. Furthermore, the pin 17 is subjected to an axial pressure, directed from the bottom up, by which the plate 2 and the friction member 4, 5 are pushed upwards, that is to say the required finishing pressure. is produced.

   The intensity of this pressure
 EMI5.1
 cl'2ühérel1ce depends on the inc: linaj sound of the surface 19 and the opposing resistance p3r the shaft 13 and, therefore, on the torque to be transmitted.

   As long as the friction plates are not worn, the drive pin 17 is at the lower end of the inclined surface 19, as shown in fig. 2. As the friction surfaces of the plates 1, 2, 4 and 5 increase in wear, the shaft 10 moves up slightly, so that the drive spindle 17 attacks higher places on the chain. inclined surface 19. The extreme position of the pin 17 is shown in FIG. 3 where the pin attacks the upper end of the inclined surface 19.

   When there is a change in the direction of rotation, that is to say that the plate 2 is rotated in the opposite direction of the arrow, the inclined surface 19 ceases to be loaded. and the spindle bears against the inclined surface 22 formed by the buttonhole 21. If the wear of the friction plates has increased notably, the drive spindle will, in known embodiments, show a noticeable lost movement.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 before it meets the inclined surface 22. This defect is overcome by the fact that the inclined surface 22 is formed on the freely rotatable bush 20.

   This is because when the shaft member 10 rotates in the direction of the arrow and the driving spindle 17 presses on the inline surface 19, the bush 20 is driven, since the spindle 17. has no had in buttonhole 21 transversely thereto. As the feed spindle a.git at this moment on the upper edge of the buttonhole, the bush 20 comes off the collar 15. Therefore it follows without resistance the movement of the feed spindle.
In order that when changing the direction of rotation the coupling between the bush 20 and the collar 15 takes place immediately, it is advisable to provide short teeth on the underside of the bush or the upper side of the collar 15.
