    @   Il est connu d'amener des matières en fusion, particuliè- rement des métaux, à la forme granuleuse en dirigeant un jet de la matière en fusion, avec admission d'eau, sur une roue en bois mise en rotation. Pour obtenir une meilleure répartition de la masse en fusion, il est utile dans ce cas de munir la roue en bois de rainures fraisées. On a constaté cependant que la roue en bois subit ainsi une usure relativement forte et que les explosions, devenant de plus en plus forte avec l'augmentation de l'usure, entraînent un endommagement tellement fort de la roue que celle-ci doit être remplacée. 



   Or, il a été trouvé suivant la présente invention qu'on peut considérablement diminuer ces difficultés rencontrées dans la granulation des matières en fusion lorsqu'on dirige la masse en fusion, avec admission d'un liquide, sur une roue ou un rouleau   ou.l'on   a fixé une couronne dentée subdivisée en segments. Lorsque certaines dents sont devenues inutilisables par suite de l'usure, on peut simplement remplacer le segment denté en cause, sans démonter la roue. Un segment peut comprendre une ou plusieurs dents. 



   Le dispositif peut être constitué, par exemple, par un cylindre en tôle, fermé aux deux extrémités par deux disques pleins, traversés par l'arbre de commande. Sur ce cylindre ou rouleau sont fixés, à des distances déterminées, des tenons ou languettes à rainures en forme de queue d'aronde, sur lesquels sont glissés les segments dentés munis de rainures. Les segments dentés peuvent être encore subdivisés aussi dans le sens de la longueur du rouleau. 



   Comme matériau pour les segments dentés on peut utiliser, par exemple, de la masse de bois comprimée ou de la masse de bois coulée. On peut employer aussi du bois naturel en choisissant alors la direction des fibres de manière à obtenir le maximum de résis- tance.
