LICENTIA PAiûiTVLEt'JALT'CNCS-CES-.I. ,LSCi3A.FT MIT BFSCMBKTER HAFTU1G à Berlin (Allemagne), AGENCEMENT POUR LA COMMANDE DE MOTEURS D'AJUSTEMENT A COUSANT
ALTERNATIF.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

LICENTIA PAiûiTVLEt'JALT'CNCS-CES-.I. , LSCi3A.FT MIT BFSCMBKTER HAFTU1G in Berlin (Germany), ARRANGEMENT FOR ORDERING SEWING ADJUSTMENT MOTORS
ALTERNATIVE. International Convention: German patent application L.112.625 / 21 d filed on September 10, 1943.
The present invention relates to an arrangement for the control of AC trim motors as used in particular in combination with a setting or recording apparatus. It is of great importance that such motors can be braked as instantaneously as possible to prevent over-adjustment or continuation of operation of the plotter recording apparatus beyond. of the instantaneous value, as a result of the inertia of. engine..
It is at. this object served by the present invention which is characterized by a minimal construction expense and by the absence of moving parts during the automatic adjustment or recording,
It is known that similar AC motors
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
work most easily with pure sinusordal alternating current while distortions of alternating current result in some braking effect.
According to the present invention, use is made of this property and a single-channel rectifier has been placed in the power supply circuit of the motor, in series with a switching member of any kind, while in parallel with respect to the motor, possibly in combination with a resistor) a DC voltage source has been arranged so that the DC component of the half-wave current flowing in the supply circuit is compensated in the motor.
The motor is therefore traversed in the operating state by a distorted alternating current while in the event of an interruption of the circuit connected to the alternating voltage, only the pure direct current supplied by the voltage source flows into the motor. placed in parallel with the motor and whose braking effect stops it in the shortest time. The characteristic of this switching principle is that the operating current is constituted by a rectified alternating current with compensated direct current component. In this way, if the power supply circuit proper is interrupted, there is immediately pure direct current available for braking the motor.
Instead of a rectifier with a switching member, one can advantageously employ a gas or vapor-filled three-pole tube, called a current gate, which passes in one direction only the current supplied by the AC voltage source and becomes a switch by controlling the gate voltage.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
With the arrangement according to the present invention, one also arrives at a really simple control device for two adjusting motors rotating alternately in different directions and which can be coupled, for example, by means of a transmission to. - a common tree. In parallel with respect to the two adjustment motors connected in common to an alternating voltage source and to a direct voltage source, it is necessary to mount an induction choke whose resistance to the alternating current is large compared to that. one of the motors and whose resistance to direct current is small compared to that of one of the motors.
We thus obtain that depending on which of the two conjugate current gates has ignited, one of the motors is applied to alternating voltage and the other whose current gate has not ignited, is without current, seen that the component of the direct current, which passes from the half-wave current is compensated by the direct voltage source.
There may then be the case in which, by the braking current, a relatively high DC voltage is superimposed on the anode AC voltage for a current gate.
This can be very unpleasant. When the AC gate voltage goes through zero, there is in fact already a significant anode voltage in the tube. It can then happen that the tube already ignites for a zero value of the grid voltage because, as a result of variations during manufacture, there are possibly tubes having an ignition point for an anode voltage. only about 25 volts and a gate voltage of 0 volts. In assemblies in which the influence of the braking voltage on the ignition conditions is thus noticed, such tubes could not therefore be
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
used.
Apart from this, in devices in which the tube is connected alternately to differently charged circuits, non-uniform operation will occur because the tube in conjunction with the DC braked adjustment motor turns on earlier. as for example that in connection with a relay.
Compensation for the influence of the braking voltage, for example with a DC voltage source of reverse sign, is achievable only with a considerable increase in the expenditure on apparatus and is therefore not practical.
According to the present invention, the harmful influences by direct current braking can be avoided by the fact that the ohmic voltage divider placed in parallel on the alternating voltage source is surmounted by a bridge completely or partially by a capacitor which is dimensioned such that the lifting of the anode voltage curve caused by the compensating voltage is suppressed at least in the ignition region. A phase shift of the voltage stroke raised by the braking voltage is therefore caused by means of a capacitive shunt load, and this in such a way that the simultaneity of the wave passages is re-established so that the rising branch of the lifted curve coincides with that of the voltage stroke not influenced by the braking voltage.
This ensures at least in the ignition region the reestablishment of the initial voltage conditions.
The operation of the device will be explained below using the figures.
Figure 1 shows a control arrangement with a motor in combination with a rectifier and a switching member

any.
Figure 2 shows the control of a motor with a gas-filled three-pole tube.
Figure 3 shows the control of two motors rotating in different directions with two three-pole tubes and the elimination of the influence of the braking voltage on the ignition properties of the two three-pole tubes.
Figure 4 shows the phase shift of the anode alternating voltage curve raised by the braking voltage.
As seen in Figure 1, the adjustment motor M is connected via a resistor W1, a switching member S and a one-way rectifier G1 to an alternating current source JW. In parallel with the. motor is connected through a resistor, large in relation to it, W a source J of confined current, which is dimensioned in such a way that the dc component of the half-wave current supplied by the current source Jw and rectifier G1 is compensated in the motor.
If the circuit is closed by the switching unit S, an alternating current flows through the motor because the zero line of the half-wave current is shifted in such a way by the direct voltage JG that one obtains from the half-wave current an alternating current, distorted it is true. If the power supply circuit is interrupted by the switching device S. pure direct current flows through motor M, which stops it almost instantaneously.
The same conditions are valid for Figure 2 because the gas-filled DC tube R allows only the current of electrons to flow in the direction of the cathode.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
to the anode, that is to say from F to A, and by an appropriate voltage at the gate the supply circuit is cut.
FIG. 3 shows a corresponding arrangement with two motors M1 and MM2 rotating in opposite directions which are both connected to a direct current source JG and with intercalation of a voltage divider W to an alternating current source JW.
The switching units S are in the gate circuit of the current gates R1 and R2. The assembly is obtained by symmetrically doubling the assembly according to figure 2. The induction choke coils D r, whose resistance to the alternating current is large compared to the resistance to the alternating current of, have also been mounted in parallel on the two motors. one of the motors and whose DC resistance is small compared to that of one of the motors. The following is thus obtained. When the current gate R1 is switched on, a half-wave current flows from A to G which is distributed as follows. Approximately half of the direct current component flows through the path A B C D E F G and compensates the braking current in motor M2.
The other half of the direct current component flows through A B F G and releases the brake in motor M1. The alternating current component only passes through A B F G since the self-induction Dr forms a very high resistance for the alternating current. Therefore only the motor M1 is activated.
When switching on the current gate R2, the motor M2 is actuated correspondingly. When the current gate is switched off in each case, the conjugate motor is immediately under the full action of the direct braking current and remains immobilized almost instantly.
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
The action of the braking voltage on the alternating anode voltage can be ruled out with regard to its influence on the ignition of the three-pole tubes, by the fact that a resistor W placed in parallel with the alternating current source
JW is surmounted by a bridge totally or partially by a capacity C suitably sized. The operation of this arrangement is visible in FIG. 4. Curve 1 shows a half wave of the alternating anode voltage without the action of a braking voltage. The dotted line curve 2 shows the influence of the braking voltage. There is an uplift of curve 1 of a DC voltage of about 25 volts.
Curve 4 represents the alternating grid voltage as can be seen, the ignition voltage, the position of which is indicated by the arrow, is already obtained for a voltage following curve 2 in the case of a much lower value. of the gate voltage. Curve 3a chain lines finally shows the shift obtained, by the intercalation of the capacitor C of curve 2 on the rising branch of curve 1, so that at least in the ignition region, the old voltage conditions are reestablished *
