 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Fig. 1 montre une vue en coupe dune forme d'exécution d'une machine à crème à la glace selon l'invention;

 d'une machine à glace selon l'invention;
Fig. 3 est une vue en coupe du palier et de 1'arbre du racloir de la machine à glace représentée en Fig. 2;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 7>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 8>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 9>

    REVENDICATIONS.

  "Ice cream machine"
The invention relates to an ice cream machine, comprising a rotary scraper placed eccentrically in a rotary reservoir, which scraper can perform a limited pivoting around a horizontal axis and possibly around a vertical axis and / or ast. arranged such that the scraper is elastically pressed towards the bottom of the tank.

   Such a machine is already known. In this known ice machine, the scraper is mounted in a bearing which is held by a separate support disposed on the frame of the ice machine.

  This support can be rotated vertically and horizontally, the movement being transmitted to the bearing and to the scraper shaft. The vertical pivoting movement of the bearing support around a horizontal axis is limited by an adjustable spring and an adjustable stop screw,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 arranged respectively above and below the horizontal axis. The distance between the scraper and the tank wall can be adjusted by sliding the bearing more or less out of its support. The scraper, which is mounted eccentrically in the reservoir, is pressed towards the bottom thereof by a spring arranged around the scraper shaft and acting on the lower face of the bearing and the upper face of the scraper.

   The construction of this known ice machine is not compact, inconvenient and has an unattractive exterior appearance. In addition, the known construction suffers from the disadvantage that the springs, the stops, the adjusting elements and the adjustable members can easily rust, since the liquid and the ice particles gushing out of the reservoir are deposited on them. parts of the machine, while used lubricants can easily mix with ice cream.

   The object of the invention is to establish an ice cream machine, which is compact, which considerably improves its external appearance, and by means of which the preparation of the ice cream. ice cream can be done in a hygienic manner.

   According to the invention, the means by which and / or by means of which the scraper can perform a limited pivoting around the horizontal axis and possibly around the vertical axis, and / or is elastically pressed towards the bottom of the tank , are, at least in large part, enclosed respectively in the frame of the ice machine, the scraper bearing, the scraper shaft and the coupling of this shaft to its motor shaft, or in certain of these parts of the ice machine.

   The invention and its advantages will be described below in more detail, with reference to the two exemplary embodiments illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which
Fig. 1 shows a sectional view of an embodiment of an ice cream machine according to the invention;
Fig. 2 is a side view of a second embodiment

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 of an ice machine according to the invention;
Fig. 3 is a sectional view of the bearing and scraper shaft of the ice machine shown in FIG. 2;
Fig. 4 is a sectional view along the line IV-IV of Fig.3, and
Fig. 5 is a sectional view taken along the line V-V of FIG. 3.

   A scraper. 2 is mounted eccentrically in a tank 1.

  The scraper 2 and the tank 1 are both rotatably mounted and are respectively controlled by means of a control rod 3 and a rotating shaft 4. FIG. 1 only shows the wall of the reservoir 1, while the rotary shaft 4, which sets this reservoir in rotation, is not shown.

   In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, the scraper can pivot around the horizontal axis 5 which is mounted in the bearing 6 of the scraper 2. The distance between the scraper 2 and the wall of the tank 1 is determined by the distance between the horizontal axis. 5 and the frame 7 of the ice machine, while this distance also depends on the size of the tank 1. The horizontal axis 5 is mounted in a slide 8 which can slide in the frame 7. The distance between the horizontal axis 5 and the frame of the ice machine can be adjusted by means of a bolt 9 whose head 10 is outside the frame 7. When turning the head 10, the slide 8 slides on the rod of bolt 9 by engaging more or less in the frame 7 of the ice machine.

   Adjustable stops are mounted in the bearing 6, respectively above and below the adjustable horizontal axis 5. The lower stop 11 rests against the frame 7, while the upper stop 12 rests on the end. enlarged of the rod 13, which is mounted in the frame 7. The rod 13 is held against the stop 12 by means of a pressure spring 14. The tension of the spring is adjusted using a nut 15 which is mounted on the rod 13.

  In the event that irregular adhesions of ice form

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 on the wall of the tank 1, the scraper 2 can move away from the wall of the tank 1. This movement of the scraper is resiliently absorbed by the spring 14 which is compressed by the. upper stop 12. The lower stop 11 determines the maximum pressure exerted by the scraper 2 on the wall of the tank. In order to prevent sloshing of the stops 11 and 12, their ends are rounded.

   The scraper 2 is pressed towards the bottom of the tank 1 since the sleeve 16, which connects the shaft 17 of the scraper to the spherical end of the motor shaft 3, contains a pressure spring 18 which acts on this end and on the sleeve 16. The pressure spring 18 serves at the same time to absorb the vertical impacts imparted to the scraper 2 by the irregular adhesions of ice on the bottom of the tank 1.

   The construction of the embodiment shown in Fig. 1 ensures smooth operation, because the means which determine the position of the scraper and correct the deviations of the latter during operation are protected from interference. rust caused by ice deposits. The exterior appearance is also significantly improved thanks to the compactness of the. construction.

   If the ice machine shown in Fig. 1 already makes it possible to prepare ice cream which meets high requirements from the point of view of hygiene, in the case of the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, it is impossible that dirt produced by the operation or maintenance of the ice machine can enter the reservoir 1 @ The bearing 6 'is partially mounted in the frame 7', which allows to collect in a central point the used lubricants from aes moving elements which are arranged in the bearing. This greatly facilitates the maintenance of the icemaker, while the machine does not have to be stopped to remove the used lubricating oil.

   The production of cream at. ice will be. therefore greatly increased. ice machine according to Fig. 2 is extremely convenient, since

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 the adjustment of the means by which and / or with the help of which the scraper 2 'can perform a limited pivoting, can be carried out completely from the outside.

   This second embodiment is very simple, which makes it possible to obtain a clean and robust appearance. This will emerge more clearly from the description which will be given below with reference to Figs. 3 to 5 and which will also indicate other advantages. appreciable of the embodiment according to FIG. 2.

   The horizontal axis 5 ', around which the bearing 6' can oscillate, is wedged there by means of pins 19 and 20. The axis 5 'can rotate in the slide 8', which can slide in the frame. 7 '.

  Using the bolt 9 ', the head of which la' is on the outside of the frame 7 ', the slider 8 can be slid into the frame 7', so as to be able to adjust the distance between the scraper 2 'and the wall of the tank 1'. The slide 8 is held in the adjusted position by means of the bolt 21 which can be operated from outside the ice machine. A threaded borehole 22, into which the end of a threaded spindle 23 is screwed, is formed in the bearing 6 ', above the horizontal axis 5'. The other end of this spindle is provided with an adjusting nut 24 which is held in position by a locking nut 25.

   The pin 23 can oscillate in the frame 7 '. For this purpose, a convex shape has also been given to the face of the adjusting nut 24, which is applied against the frame 7 '. The pin 23 serves to limit the pivoting of the scraper 2 'around the horizontal axis 5', so that the maximum pressure exerted by the scraper 2 'on the wall of the tank 1' is determined by the pin 23. This pressure is adjusted using the adjusting nut 24, after releasing this nut following the unscrewing of the locking nut 25.

   This construction of the device for limiting the pivoting movement of the scraper has the advantage that, in the event of wear, it is not necessary to replace the entire spindle, but only the locking nut.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 7>

 adjustment 24. The wear thereof can however be reduced to a minimum by interposing, between the adjustment nut 24 and the frame 7 ', a washer 26 made of a material softer than the material of the. adjusting nut 24. Another important advantage is that the spindle 23 can be adjusted from the outside.

   A recess 27 is made in the bearing 6 ', above the borehole 22, in which the recess is disposed a pressure spring 28 which maintains the plate 29 against the rounded end of the threaded bolt 30. The shank of this bolt is completely in frame 7 '. The tension of the 'spring 28 can be adjusted by imparting a rotation to the head 31 of the bolt 30, which head is located outside the frame 7'. The spring 28 is therefore adjusted completely from the outside. This gives a very solid construction. Its wear is also reduced to a minimum.

   The part of the bearing 6 ', in which the scraper shaft 17' is rotatably mounted, comprises a smooth bush 32 which is wedged in the openable bush support 33, by means of one or more setting pins. position 34. The lower end of the smooth pad 32 has an enlargement 35. This end forms, with the vertical walls 36 of the sleeve 37 of the shaft 17 'of the scraper, a chai-free 38 in which the spring is housed pressure 39. This spring acts on the one hand on the lower extremity of the smooth bearing 32 and on the other hand, with the intervention of the sleeve 37, on the shaft 17 'of the scraper, and serves to absorb the vertical shocks on the scraper.

   As in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the shaft 17 'of the scraper is coupled to the spherical end of the motor shaft 3' by means of a sleeve 16 '.

   Spring 39 will not rust, since it is completely enclosed in chamber 38 so that ice and liquid

 <Desc / Clms Page number 8>

 cannot attack the spring 39.

   As indicated above, the bearing 6 'is partially mounted in the housing 7'. The side walls 40 and 41 of the bearing 6 ', which come into contact with the frame 7', are each provided with a felt strip 42 and 43. These felt strips can be impregnated with lubricating oil which is supplied by two nipples 44 which are arranged approximately at height and on either side of the recess 27 of the bearing 6 '.

   In order to facilitate sliding, it is desirable to provide zig-zag grooves in the side faces 40 and 41. As a result of the vibration of the scraper, the lubricating oil will then be easily distributed on the surfaces of the scraper. contact 40 and 41. The lubricating oil of the horizontal axis 5 'is brought by the nipple 45 into the funnel-shaped opening 46 of the slide 8'. The scraper shaft 17 'is lubricated with lubricating oil supplied through the lubricating hole 47. In order to prevent the oil from flowing into the chamber 38, it has been arranged in the enlargement 35 a stuffing washer which ensures the separation between the upper face of the enlargement 35 and the smooth pad.

  The used and superfluous lubricating oil is therefore obliged to flow through the channel 49 into the space 50. In this space also arrives the superfluous and used oil from the part of the bearing which is mounted in the frame 7 '. The oil thus assembled flows into the knockout 51 of the frame 7 ', from where the oil can be removed after some time, for example by means of a siphon which reaches the oil through the opening 52 formed between the bearing 6 'and the frame 7'.

   In addition to the easy maintenance, which is obtained by the partial assembly of the bearing 6 'in the frame 7', which makes it possible to prepare an ice cream of a high degree of purity by means of the ice machine according to invention, a very solid construction is also obtained, in which the lateral forces acting

 <Desc / Clms Page number 9>

 on the bearing are supported by the frame 7 'instead of being supported by the norizontal axis 5'.

   The new ice machine thus acquires great longevity.
