9

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

HYDRAULIC MOTOR POWERED BY A PRESSURIZED AGENT
The present invention relates to a hydraulic motor actuated by a pressurized agent and, in particular, by a pressurized liquid, of the type in which the pistons and cylinders are arranged in a star inside a casing, around it. a crank shaft, and the cylinders are arranged so as to be able to oscillate around journals parallel to the axis of the crank shaft, and in which the pressurized medium is admitted to the cylinders by means of these journals, while the pistons are assembled by a common ring, carried by the crank pin of the crank elbow o In engines of this type, it is known to rigidly connect this ring carried by the crank pin to one of the pistons and, in this way, to guide said ring using one of the oscillating cylinders.

It is also known to guide this ring using a special guide device such that each point of said ring describes a circle whose diameter is that of the circle described by the crank pin of the crank, so that all the pistons make exactly the same movement one after the other. In the latter case, a greater regularity of the torque produced by the crank shaft and greater regularity of the speed of rotation of said crank shaft is obtained than in the method of construction described in the first place.

However, the latter construction is more expensive and also takes more space.
The arrangement according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that the ring carried by the crankshaft is provided with a series of V-shaped notches, the number of which corresponds to the number of cylinders, and by the fact that 'at least one of the pistons is provided with a wedge-shaped foot and that this or these pistons are engaged by this foot in one or more of these notches, the edge of this wedge-shaped foot being disposed parallel to the axis of rotation of the crankshaft.

This arrangement allows, with a less bulky construction, to obtain a more regular torque and a more uniform speed of rotation of the crankshaft.

An exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a section through the hydraulic motor by line 1 - 1 of FIG. 2. FIG. 2 is a horizontal section of this engine by line II-II of Figure 1. Figure 3 and Figure 4 are detail views.

1 designates the motor casing, in which the crankshaft 2 is rotatably supported by means of bearings 3 and 4. The torque of the hydraulic motor is supplied by the end 5 of this shaft. .

On the crankpin 7 is rotatably supported, by means of a needle bearing 8, a ring 9 which has V-shaped notches, 10, which are nine in number corresponding to the number of cylinders provided. At the bottom of each of these notches rests the end or edge of the wedge-shaped foot 12 of a piston 13, which edge is parallel to the axis of rotation of the crank shaft 2. The wedge-shaped foot 12 of the piston protrudes on each side, as seen in Figure 2, above the crankshaft, with the aid of a shoulder 12a. Two rings 11 embrace the shoulders 12a of all the pistons and prevent these shoulders from coming out of the notches 10 of the star shaped notched ring 9.

To allow the ring 9 to be fitted without cutting it, the crankshaft is established in a known manner in two parts which are assembled and held fixed to one another by means of a screw 6. Each of the pistons 13 is guided inside a cylinder 15 which is provided with a transverse bore 16 with the aid of which it is supported in an oscillating manner by a journal 17 fixed in the casing 1.

Each of the journals 17 has two longitudinal conduits 18, 19, and two channels 20, 21 which are disposed approximately radially with respect to the center 23 of the fixed casing and which open into the aforesaid longitudinal conduits, these various conduits and channels serving controlling the inlet and outlet of the pressurized agent in and out of the cylinders 15, in a manner analogous to that which has been described in Swiss Patent No. 249,710.

For this purpose, on the one hand, all the conduits 18 which are closed by means of bolts 22 at their ends are connected, by means of radial channels 24, to an annular channel 25 which is supplied with liquid under pressure arriving from the outside by a tube 27 All the cylinders which are located to the right of the plane 26 passing through the axis of the crank shaft are therefore in communication with the supply tube 27, so that they are under pressure and apply a torque to the crankshaft 2.

The boreholes 19, which are also closed at their ends by other bolts 22, communicate moreover, by means of radial conduits 28, with an annular collector channel 29 to which a return pipe 30 is connected. the annular channel 29 towards the interior, an annular cover 31 is fixed to the casing 1. All the cylinders 15 situated to the left of the plane 26 containing the axis of the crank shaft are in communication, via the intermediate of the channels 21, 19, 28 and 29, with the return pipe 30, which allows the pressurized liquid to escape from the cylinders when the work is done
The mode of action of the hydraulic motor which has just been described emerges essentially from this description.

Indeed, it is easy to realize that the crank shaft 2 rotates in the direction of arrow 33 when the cylinders receive pressurized liquid via the annular channel 25. In the position of the crank pin 7 shown at Figure 1, the lower corner surface of the piston 13, which discharges the liquid horizontally from the right towards the ring 9, contacts the lower flank 10a of the corresponding notch 10 and determines the position of said ring.

When, after a 40 (360) rotation of the crankpin, the piston
9

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

13a comes to occupy the same position with respect to the crankpin, the wedge carried by this piston is located on the lower side of the corresponding V-shaped notch 10 and guides the ring 9; likewise, during the uninterrupted rotation of the crankpin, the other pistons also alternately guide said ring in a similar manner. The tendency of the wedge 12 to disengage from the notch 10 under the influence of a torque acting on the ring 9 is counteracted by the load to which the piston carrying this wedge is subjected under pressure. some cash.

In addition, this tendency of the corners to come out of the notches can also be counteracted by the shape of said notches, which is achieved by giving the angle between the V-shaped interior surfaces of the notches 10 a. value preferably a little less than 90
The safety rings 11, also provided to complete the protection of the pistons against the risk of them emerging from the notches 10, can, instead of being provided with a neck llc of constant thickness, according to FIG. 2, be provided with milled recesses in the form of circular cylinders 11a, as shown in FIG. 3, in which case the center 11b of the circle of each of these recesses coincides with the bottom of the socket 10.

The pistons themselves comprise in a corresponding manner, as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 4, a shoulder 12a having the shape of a circular cylinder, which shoulder bears against the recesses 11 by contact between two surfaces. In this method of construction, the safety rings must be fixed in the correct position with respect to the notched ring 9.

The number of pistons or cylinders may be less or greater than 9. If the crank pin 7 is made longer, it is possible, in addition to the group of cylinders shown, to fit a second group of cylinders and pistons. , the journals 17 of which could, for example, be mounted between the journals 17 of the group shown and distributed evenly around the periphery of the casing.
