<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
En se référant aux figs. 1 et 2, on voit que l'appareil équipe un récipient 1 tel que celui utilisé généralement dans les appareils du type "passe-légumes", et pourvu, à sa partie inférieure, d'un rebord 2. Le dis- positif à rotation, suivant l'invention, comporte un auget 3, destiné à rece- voir les produits à traiter, puis à les guider et à les pousser circulairement dans le récipient 1, ledit auget présentant une paroi à peu près verticale recourbée ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

APPARATUS FOR GRAPING, CUTTING OR SLICING.
The present invention relates to an apparatus for grating, cutting or slicing vegetables, vegetable herbs, chocolate, smoking, etc. as well as for making breadcrumbs or for rendering similar services.
There are already devices for grating, chopping or slicing food, and which include a pressure member intended to compress the product to be treated against a plate, a grid or a drum driven by a circular movement controlled by a device. crank, these devices may include interchangeable trays, grids or drums depending on the nature of the work to be performed.
The object of the invention is to create an apparatus of the same type but of simplified construction, in which the rotation of the control crank is accompanied by a gentle pressure on the product to be treated, this pressure being able to be. , at the discretion of the user's hand, proportionate to the nature and consistency of the product to be treated as well as to the type of tray or grid used
According to the invention, this apparatus is characterized by a rotary device comprising a variable capacity bucket and a crank with a sliding handle controlling the vertical displacement of a pressure pallet, with a view to imparting a variable pressure to this pallet, the bucket being delimited in the vertical direction by a curved wall, laterally gaping,
and in the horizontal direction by a portion of the surface of the pressure paddle and by a portion of the surface of an interchangeable fixed plate, the pressure paddle being raised on the other portion of its surface in order to allow the products to treat to be guided against the Interchangeable plate.
According to a feature of this device, an axis passes through
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
drilling carried out in the interchangeable fixed plate on which the rotary bucket device rotates, this journaling axis in a sleeve and being fixed by a stirrup bearing under the lower periphery of a container or a support, depending on whether the The apparatus is mounted on the bottom of a container such as a "vegetable strainer" for example, or that it is mounted on any support.
Various other characteristics of the device will emerge from the remainder of the present description. This will now be made with reference to the accompanying drawings which show, by way of purely illustrative example, a good embodiment thereof. In this example, the apparatus is assumed to be mounted in a receptacle of the type commonly known under the name of "vegetable strainer".
In these drawings:
Fig. 1 is a sectional view of an apparatus according to the invention equipped with a plate or grid constituting the interchangeable base, this plate being assumed here to be of the type intended for grating.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the same device showing the trough intended to receive the products to be treated as well as the pallet, its crank and its sliding handle.
Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the apparatus, the plate forming interchangeable bottom of which is assumed here to be provided with knives.
Referring to figs. 1 and 2, it can be seen that the device is fitted to a receptacle 1 such as that generally used in devices of the "vegetable sieve" type, and provided, at its lower part, with a rim 2. The rotating device , according to the invention, comprises a bucket 3, intended to receive the products to be treated, then to guide them and to push them circularly in the container 1, said bucket having a curved roughly vertical wall;
The provided with guides 4, and being provided at its lower part with an axis 2. A crank 6, mounted on a handle .7 which can slide by means of sleeves 1 on the guides 4, comprises at its lower part a pallet. pressure 2, moving vertically in the bucket 3. and constituting the movable upper wall of this bucket. In the figures of the drawings, this pallet 2 is assumed to be fully downward, the bucket being empty.
On the lower rim 2 of the frustoconical container 1 a fixed plate playing the role of an interchangeable base rests, this plate 10 being provided with a rim 11 and being able to include perforations 12 and rectangular, round or half-round asperities 13. , triangular, or any other suitable shape, these asperities here making it possible to grate the products coming from the housing 3, these being pressed gently and elastically during the rotation of the device by the pallet 9. This last - niere is raised at the end of its length, as indicated at 9a in FIG. 1, so as to facilitate the admission of the products to be treated against the plate forming the interchangeable bottom 10.
This plate 10 comprises a borehole 14 intended to provide passage to -'axis guided in a sleeve 15 carried by the plate 10 and held in a stirrup 16 also serving for fixing the plate 10 on the lower rim 2 of the container 1.
In fig. 3, the same apparatus as that described above has been shown, but after replacing the plate 10 serving as a grater with a plate 17 serving as a knife. In fact, the interchangeable base here consists of a solid disc 17 provided, in the example shown, with two knives 18 arranged diametrically on the disc 17.
This device, which can grate, cut or slice depending on the type of bottom with which it has been fitted, is of a construction that is both simple and robust, of safe and rapid operation, requiring a minimum of effort. The disassembly and cleaning of its various elements are easy.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The construction of this device allows the pressure exerted on the product to be treated to be as soft and elastic as the user's hand wants, which presses on the sliding crank while rotating it, which makes this pressure proportional to the nature and consistency of the product to be treated as well as the type of interchangeable plate used.
This construction is simplified in that it makes it possible to eliminate all gears, transmission shafts, pressure discs, hinged controls, helical ramp, threads and articulations, as there are often in previous constructions. results in manufacturing savings and greater ease of disassembly when cleaning the device.
Modifications can be made to this apparatus in its shape, its mounting, the nature and the arrangement of its elements without departing from the scope of the invention. This is how this apparatus has been described and represented in hypothesis where it was mounted on the bottom of a vegetable sieve container, while it could be mounted more simply on any support.
