The present invention relates to an improvement made to a coffee-boiling machine, the spout of which is provided with a cap, the coffee-boiling machine being provided with a device actuated by the pressure of the steam contained in the vessel. coffee maker in order to prevent the coffee from boiling over and boiling for a long time, this device partially lifting the coffee boiling machine away from the hotplate or the stove.
The invention is illustrated by two embodiments represented by the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 is a side view, partially in section, of a coffee boiling machine according to the invention, in the position taken by the coffee maker before its contents boil.
Figure 2 is a corresponding side view of the coffee maker whose contents have boiled.
Figure 3 is a side view, partially in section, of another embodiment of a coffee boiling machine.
Reference will now be made to the drawings: 1 denotes a coffee boiling pot comprising a spout 2 provided with a cap 3 having a bayonet seal 4. An opening, having an extension or a cylindrical neck 5, is provided at the top of the coffee maker; a hollow piston 6, open at the base, is movable in this neck; the upper end wall 7 of the piston 6 is convex and can be unscrewed from the piston 6 in order to be cleaned.
In the top of the convex end wall 7 is screwed an adjusting screw 9 on an end surface of which rests the end 10 of an arm 11 of a lever with two arms 11, 12, which is articulated on a support 13 fixed to the coffee maker 1, the second arm 12 being pivotally attached to a rod 14 which is guided in its movements by an organ

The length of the rod 14 is measured so that when the coffee maker 1 is placed on a hotplate 18 of a furnace 17, the lower end 19 of the rod 14 rests on the furnace 17.
In the adjusting screw 9 or in some other part of the convex end wall 7, a petid is practiced. hole 8 the diameter of which corresponds to the size of the coffee maker 1 (for example, when the capacity of the coffee maker is 1 1/2 liters, the hole should be approximately 0.3 mm). To reduce the friction between the piston 6 and the cylindrical neck 5, the piston has peripheral grooves 120. In the lower part of the piston 6, some distance from the lower edge, a comparatively large hole 21 is made, through which the The vapor produced flows outwards when the lower end of the piston 6 is placed near the upper edge of the cylindrical neck.
To an arm 12 of the lever 11, 12 is attached a movable stop 22 which cooperates with the handle 15 or some other member of the coffee maker 1 to limit the movement of the lever 11, 12 so that the piston 6 is not pushed completely out. cylindrical neck 5.
The device operates as follows:
When the coffee maker 1 has been filled with water and coffee, the cap 3 is put on the spout 2 and the piston 6 is introduced into the neck 5, after which the lever 11, 12 is placed so that the end of 10 s 'press the adjustment screw 9. Then, the coffee maker is placed on the heating plate 18 so that the end 19 of the rod 14 rests on the

stove 17.
When steam is formed before boiling, this steam escapes through the small hole 8. When the cafélrout, the steam forms so quickly that it cannot escape completely through the hole 8 and the pressure prevailing. in the coffee maker increases and pushes back the plunger 6 upwards, so that the lever 11, 12 swings in a clockwise direction and lowers the rod 14 until the stop 22 comes into contact with it. tact with the handle 15 and that the large hole 22 is positioned above the upper edge of the neck 5 and allows the vapor produced to escape to the outside. Due to the movement of the plunger 6, the lever 11, 12 lifts the coffee maker 1 so as to make it pivot around its front lower edge 23. Thus, the bottom of the coffee maker is moved away from the plate 18 and the boiling ceases. .
As there are stoves with hotplates of different heights, the adjusting screw 9 is seldom sufficient and, therefore, the lower end 19 of the rod 14 can preferably be provided with a adjustable stopper, comprising a locking nut.
Instead of the hollow piston 6 open at the lower end, shown in the drawing, use can be made of a hollow piston having a lower wall or a partition disposed some distance above the hole 21.
The small hole 8 is then made in this partition and, in the upper end wall 7, a larger hole is made, having a diameter

The embodiment shown in Figure 3 differs mainly in that the ratio 13, on which the lever 11, 12 is articulated, is fixed on the cap 3 of the spout 2, so that the lever 11, 12 and the rod 14 can be removed. with the cap 3, after which the coffee boiling machine has the appearance of an ordinary coffee maker.
In the present invention, the support 13 is formed by two parallel plates 24 and the space between them forms a passage intended to guide the rod 14.
On the support 13 there is a stop 25 which limits the pivoting movement of the lever, so that the piston cannot be pushed completely out of the neck 5 by the pressure of the steam.
The device prevents the coffee from boiling and therefore overflowing; the coffee maker can be lifted away from the plate to the desired temperature by varying the dimensions of the plunger. This is very important, because coffee must not boil, but only "boil" or "simmer" at 90 or 96 Co. 94 C. For a somewhat smaller plunger, the temperature is somewhat higher because more pressure is then required to lift the coffee maker.
A tolerance of about 0.2 to 0.25 mm between the piston and the cylinder should be preferred.
