Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The development of the railway teetanique led to. the design to resiliently press and resiliently secure the rail to the cross member. For the elastic application a thin thickness of a flexible material, such as rubber or the like is usually adopted. For the elastic fixing of the rail to the cross member, elastic plates are adopted lesqueelles, by means of a lag screw or a crampon with T-shaped head or by means of another equivalent element; press the rail shoe against the cross member.

   Said elastic fixing introduced, as a result of the elastic support that is to say, also, flexible, the. danger that the rail may - in particular, for example, in bends in sections / - slide in a horizontal direction lengthwise,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 relative to the cross member. We have already recommended suitable means to oppose said sliding
For reasons of simplicity of construction and of use, said means which can be opposed to sliding, in the longitudinal direction of the cross member relative to the rail, are usually combined with the plate.

   Thus, a resilient steel plate is known which bears at one of its ends on the shoe of the rail and has, at the other end, a fold by means of which it presses into a suitable hollow. provided for this purpose, on the crossbar.

  Said hollow may or may not, depending on the case, produce a rubber pad or the like between the curved part of the plate and the bearing hollow, in the rail.

     @ Said embodiment, which in fact constitutes an improvement over previous types, nevertheless has the drawback, either of having to expressly shape the cross member, causing it, among other things, to weaken, or the need to realize said elastic pad - when there are significant loads in the horizontal direction - or, even, .l'advantage that the reaction, between the plate and the crosspiece, takes place by direct contact of these two members, which, in particular for cement sleepers, is a cause of damage to the sleeper.

   The present invention relates to an elastic plate -of the known type mentioned above, but capable of eliminating the pre-recalled drawbacks.

   The plate, according to the invention, is of the blade type pressing with one end on the shoe of the rail and having, on the other side, a curvature and it is characterized by the fact that, after the curvature, it presents a straight and level section capable of resting, in plan, on the crosspiece.

   The plate according to the invention is still characterized by the fact that either the upper plane, as already known, or also

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 the lower plane which rests on the cross member, are provided with passage holes for the lag bolt and for the crampon with T head.

   In particular, the plate according to the invention is further characterized by the fact that, when it is implemented by means of a bolt with a T-shaped head cooperating with a sleeve embedded in the cross member or by means of a lag bolt also cooperating with a suitable threaded bush embedded in the cross member, it has a tongue projecting on the underside, said tongue being produced by stamping, with a view to the arrangement of the passage hole for the bolt or for the lag bolt , said projection being intended to contrast against a surface of the aforementioned sleeve, and of the aforementioned threaded sleeve.

     ';. In the case where, for the fixing of the rail to the cross member, a bush with the bolt with a T-shaped head is used, the plate according to the invention is, finally, characterized by the fact that it is put in works by arranging, below the plane of the plate, a thickness of elastic material, similar to that which is arranged between the shoe of the rail and the cross member, said thickness of elastic material cooperating with the elasticity of, greater than the junction and, simultaneously by cooperating in the closing / opening of the socket.

   In the attached drawing board, a preferred embodiment of the object of the invention has been illustrated, by way of example alone; Figure 1 shows, in vertical section along the plane I-I, the elastic fixing of the rail to the crosspiece using the elastic plate according to the invention; Figure 2 shows a plan view of the plate seen from below in the direction of arrow II and Figure 3 shows a vup of the plate in the direction of arrow III.

   With reference to said drawings, note the cross member 1,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 the shoe 2 of the rail and the thickness 1, made of rubber or the like, interposed between the shoe of the rail and the cross member, the crampon 4 with head 1 in the form of T which is fixed in the socket 6 embedded and in taken in the mass of the cross member and having the impact surface, 2 for said head 5 of the crampon; the usual elastic washer 8. These different elements are known. The plate according to the invention has an upper section 2 intended to bear, at 10, on the shoe 2 of the rail and this section has the hole 11 for the passage of the shank of the crampon.

   Successfully, the plate has a curved part 12 which connects inferiorly with the flat section 13,14 whose end 14 is close to the edge ± of the rail. Said section
13,14 presents a hole 15 'for the passage of the shank of the crampon in the execution of the hole, 5¯ care is taken to bend, downwards, the material which constituted the plate and to form the projection 16, --whose: outer surface 17 is provided curved, with the same radius along which the inner surface 18 of the sleeve 6 is provided.

   A thickness 19 of elastic material similar to that mentioned above is interposed between the flat section 13,14 of the plate and the crosspiece also letsert close the upper opening 20 of the sleeve 6 ..

   With the plate according to the invention all the conditions necessary to ensure the rational retention of the rail 2 relative to the cross member], are fulfilled, and, in particular, the movements of the rail 2 in the longitudinal direction relative to the cross member are prevented. ; regularity and uniformity of operation of the plate is achieved by virtue of the presence of the two thicknesses 19 and 3. made of flexible material; the chamber of the sleeve 6 is closed; the weakening of the cross member is avoided
1 by hollows, grooves or the like.

   By allowing the cross member 1 to be of the normal type, the possibility of using the plate also with the already existing cross members is achieved and finally a simple and economical construction of the plate itself is achieved.
