Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

    Dispositif de commande du niveau d'eau dans une machine à laver. ainsi que la machine à laver équipée d'un tel dispositif.

     On sait déjà régler les quantités d'eau à introduire dans le réservoir de lavage de machines à laver à l'aide de dispositif$ de commanda à action automatique. On utilisa de préférence dans ce cas corne moyen de commande des dispositifs de commande qui dépendent du temps ou qui fonctionnent pour différente niveaux d'eau. Les mesures connues présentent l'inconvénient de ne pouvoir commander que très peu de niveaux d'eau différents et en général

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

     On obtient par là que pendant le temps nécessaire jusqu'au remplissage du niveau d'eau mininun le linge peut absorber la quantité d'eau correspondant à sa capacité d'absorption, après quoi on obtient, par le remplissage complémentaire dépendant du temps, un niveau d'eau plus élevé qui peut être doterai exactement,

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

La description ci-après se rapporte aux dessins ci-joints représentant un exemple de réalisation de   l'invention,     dessins   dans lesquels: - la figure 1 est une coupe transversale effectuée suivant la ligne I-I de la figure 2;

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 7>

    Device for controlling the water level in a washing machine. as well as the washing machine equipped with such a device.

   The invention relates to a device for controlling the water level in washing machines, in which different amounts of water are needed in the washing tank for different settings or working methods.

     It is already known to regulate the quantities of water to be introduced into the washing tank of washing machines with the aid of an automatic control device. Preference was given in this case to controlling means of control devices which are dependent on time or which operate for different water levels. The known measures have the drawback of only being able to control very few different water levels and in general

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 only two different water levels. When using water level dependent control devices.

   One can, it is true, obtain an exact observation of the water level, but for a relatively large number of different water levels, the expense and the bulkiness of the means of connotation, however, raise you unacceptably.

   In the case of control as a function of time, the drawback is that, depending on each washing mode, and in particular the different water absorption depending on the laundry to be washed, levels of water are obtained. The water differing significantly from each other, resulting in an extension of the heating time and, consequently, an increase in the cost of the washing process. In addition, the amounts of water and detergents are no longer in a suitable ratio between them.

   The object of the invention is to eliminate the above drawbacks and relates in particular to a device for controlling the water level in washing machines, in which quantities of water are used for various settings or working methods. 'said water in the washing tank, device characterized by a control member operating according to the water level and allowing the water supply to be stopped when the minimum water level necessary for all the adjustments envisaged, while a chronometer such as a clockwork mechanism, provided in addition,

   keeps the water supply open for an additional period of time after filling to the minimum level to achieve a higher water level corresponding to the setting considered, a safe and economical operating device.

     This results in that during the time required until the minimum water level is filled the laundry can absorb the quantity of water corresponding to its absorption capacity, after which we obtain, by the additional filling depending on the time, a higher water level which can be endowed exactly,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 that is, it is impossible to overfill or underfill the washing container.

   There is furthermore obtained the substantial additional advantage that the upper water level can be adjusted exactly to all cases which arise in practice, simply by adjusting the chronometric organ, which the washing machine is operated with each time. the desired economic adjustment * the invention also extends to the characteristics resulting from the description below and the accompanying drawings as well as to their possible combinations *
The following description relates to the accompanying drawings showing an exemplary embodiment of the invention, in which drawings: - Figure 1 is a cross section taken along the line I-I of Figure 2;

   - Figure 2 is a longitudinal section through a washing machine shown schematically; FIG. 3 is an electrical circuit diagram of the control installation according to the invention, FIG. 4 is an operating diagram.

   In the schematic representation of Figures 1 and 2, there is placed in a washing container 1 a rotating washing drum 2 mounted in cantilever With a journal 3 fixed at its bottom in a bearing arranged on the washing tank and which can be driven by means not shown in more detail.

  At the bottom of the washing tank is read again a tubular pipe 5 which is connected with a pressure switch 6 which must or closes it or several circuits depending on the air pressure prevailing in the upper section 7 of the pipe. 5.

  As can be seen from Figure 2, the water level is lower in section 7 of pipe than in washing tank 1, which must be attributed to the air trapped in and more dense in the sec- tion of pipe 7. Line 8 of figures 1 and 2 indicates the level

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

   water level which, when reached, operates pressure switch 6 and can cut off the water supply.

   Line 9 indicates the maximum water level retable which is controlled by a timer described in more detail in the following,
In the circuit diagram of FIG. 3, an electric motor 11 can be connected to a current source 10 for the interconnection of a control device not shown in detail, as well as a water valve formed under magnetic valve shape
12. The motor 11 has three different control circuits 13, 14 'and 15. In these three control circuits, as well as in the connection circuits for the magnetic valve 12, there is each time a switch 16, 17 18 and 19 which are actuated as described in more detail below by the control apparatus driven by the motor 11.

   In the control circuit
14, there is also the pressure switch 6 shown schematically in FIG. 2, while in the control circuit 15 there is still another switch 20 which is actuated by a chronometer 21.

   The arrangement of FIG. 3 represents the disengaged position of the washing machine. To start the washing machine, for example, a mains switch not shown in detail is closed, so that the motor 11 is switched on by means of the switch. The mains switch not shown also causes the opening of the magnetic valve 12, which starts the entry of water into the tank 1 of the washing machine. The control unit actuated by the motor 11 then executes a switching step in which the switch 16 opens and the switches 17 and 19 would be made.

   By opening the switch 16, the current is cut off from the motor 11, so that the control unit remains stationary. Magnetic valve 12 remains open. Closing switch 17 has no effect at first, because the control circuit

 <Desc / Clms Page number 5>

 control is still switched off by the water level pressure switch 6,
As soon as the water has risen in the tank to the determined level 8, the pressure switch 6 is actuated and closes the control circuit 14, so that the motor 11 is engaged again since the switch 17 is closed. The motor-driven control unit executes a new switching step which opens switch 17 and forms switch 18.

   By opening switch 17, the power supply to motor 11 is interrupted, so that the control unit remains stationary again. Closing switch 18 initially has no effect. but is only a preparatory switching for the operation of the timer or chronometer 21 which takes place subsequently.

   This chronometric member is switched on when the control unit executes the second indicated switching step. The duration of the operating time of this chronometric member can be adjusted when each desired work program of the machine has been selected beforehand. wash for a period corresponding to the work program in question. In this case, the installation for starting the washing machine or the control device can be linked to the chronometric organ, in such a way that the duration of the starting of said organ is regulated. at the same time when the mine installation is in operation.

   After the second described switching step of the motor-driven control unit 11, the water valve 12 remains open, so that the water level continues to rise in the tank 1. After the operating period set in advance of timer 21, the latter is actuated and closes switch 20, which causes motor 11 to be engaged again and the control unit to perform a third switching step.

   The switches 18 and 19 are then open, so that on the one hand the current supply to the motor 11 is

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 torque and the control unit remains stationary again while, on the other hand, the magnetic valve 12 is closed, which stops the water supply to tank 1. The water level in the tank has now reaches the height 9 corresponding to the work phase in question.

   Then the other work phases of the work program chosen for the washing machine take place, the clutches and disengages of the control unit which can be obtained, for example, by means of another control circuit. ordered . not shown in the drawing.

   In the flow diagram of the flower 4, we have shown. Once again schematically the mode of operation of the washing machine when it is filled with washing water. It emerges from the figure that in the switching position A, which precedes the work phase B, namely the first filling with water, only among the switches 16 to 19, the switch 16 is closed. When the working phase B is started, namely the first filling with water, the switch 16 is opened, while the switches 17 and 19 are closed.

   As soon as the water level 8 is reached and the work phase C, ... having the second water filling is started, the switch 17 is opened, while the switch 18 is closed. The switch 19 remains closed during this * working phase. When the working phase C is finished, when the water level has reached the desired height 9, the interrupter is also opened. torers 18 and 19 depending on the switching position D. The other working phases of the washing machine, such as the movement of the washing drum 2, etc., are not shown in the operating diagram.

   Instead of the pneumatic water level switch 6, any installation can of course be used for adjusting the water level 8. The chrono-metric unit can also be provided with a separate installation for the adjustment of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 7>

 desired operating time, which must be maneuvered usefully before setting the washing machine to a given work phase or a given work program
The invention also extends to a washing machine equipped with a water level control device according to the foregoing or the like.

   It is obvious that the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment described above and represents and from which it is possible to provide other forms and other embodiments without departing from the scope. of the invention.
