Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DE ENXOFRE". Um processo é proporcionado para produzir enxofre elementar de sulfeto de hidrogênio contido em uma corrente de alimentação de gás ácido, no qual sulfeto de hidrogênio e dióxido de enxofre são reagidos em uma unidade de recuperação de enxofre apenas catalítica, quo compreende um único conversor catalítico contendo uma zona de reação catalítica de Claus. Um gás enriquecido com dióxido de enxofre recuperado do tratamento do gás de cauda é reciclado e introduzido na zona de reação catalítica, como parte de uma mistura gasosa de alimentação, que também inclui a corrente de alimentação de gás ácido. As temperaturas dentro da zona de reação catalítica são efetivamente moderadas pela reciclagem do efluente do gás de cauda para o conversor, de modo que altas concentrações de sulfeto de hidrogênio na corrente de alimentação de gás ácido podem ser toleradas, e a flexibilidade e a capacidade do processo são atingidas. Um processo de pré-tratamento, incluindo o contato do gás ácido com uma lavagem de ácido aquoso, para reduzir a concentração de hidrocarbonetos insaturados no gás ácido e inibir a desativação do catalisador de oxidação, também é descrito.
