Abstract

"USO DE CO-CATALISADORES DE AMIDA OU IMIDA PARA OXIDAçãO MEDIADA POR NITRóXIDO". A invenção está ligada ao uso de compostos contendo grupos funcionais do tipo amido e imido para aumentar a taxa de oxidação mediada por nitróxidos de álcoois, particularmente álcoois primários e secundários. Embora seja adequado para a oxidação de grupos de álcool em uma variedade de substratos, é particularmente útil oxidar a celulose, polpa de celulose ou fibra celulósica de modo que seja comercialmente compatível com o processo de fabricação de papel tradicional. Tais co-catalisadores podem ser usados para aumentar a quantidade absoluta de grupos aldeído na celulose, polpa de celulose ou fibra celulósica, deste modo também aumentando a resistência à umidade, resistência à umidade temporária e resistência a seco inerentes ao papel produzido com tal celulose, polpa de celulose ou fibra celulósica.
