Abstract
"COMUTADOR E MéTODO PARA SUA FABRICAçãO". Comutador (10) para máquinas eletrodinâmicas como motores elétricos tendo uma concha cilíndrica (20)de barras comutadoras isoladas (14). Cada uma das barras tem uma camada externa (22) com espigões (18) que se estendem da camada externa (22) e de uma camada interna (24) com tiras de ancoragem (26) deles estendidas. As barras de comutação são tipicamente produzidas de duas tiras (32, 34) de cobre ou de outro metal condutor. A camada interna pode ser formada de um material mais fino porém mais forte, até de um material não-condutor, mas normalmente é preferível utilizar duas tiras de cobre para facilitar a fusão dos materiais. A primeira tira, que é tipicamente mais espessa do que a segunda, é formada por punção de modo que espigões parcialmente formados se estendem lateralmente do lado da tira. A segunda tira é formada em um processo similar para fornecer tiras de ancoragem que se estendem dos lados da segunda tira. Este comutador pode ser produzido com economia e eficiência e pode ser adaptado a uma ampla variedade de aplicações e de requisitos.
