Abstract
"CéLULA ELETROQUìMICA". A invenção descreve uma célula eletroquímica para a eletrólise de uma solução aquosa de cloreto de hidrogênio, constituída por pelo menos uma meia célula de anodo com um anodo, uma meia célula de catodo com um eletrodo de difusão gasosa como catodo, e uma membrana trocadora de íons disposta entre a meia célula de anodo e a meia célula de catodo, a qual pelo menos é constituída por um polímero de ácido perfluorsulfónico, sendo que o eletrodo de difusão gasosa e a membrana trocadora de íons situam-se justapostos, caracterizado pelo fato de que o eletrodo de difusão gasosa e a membrana de troca iónica, sob uma pressão de 250 g/cm¬ 2¬ e uma temperatura de 60 <198>C, apresentam uma superfície de contacto de pelo menos 50%, relativamente à superfície geométrica.
