Abstract
LIQUEFAçãO DE GáS NATURAL. A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para liquefazer gás natural em conjunto com a produção de uma corrente liquida que contém predominantemente hidrocarbonetos mais pesados do que o metano. No processo, a corrente de gás natural a ser liquefeita é parcialmente resfriada, expandida até uma pressão intermediária, e alimentada para uma coluna de destilação. O produto do fundo desta coluna de destilação contém, de preferência, a maior parte de quaisquer hidrocarbonetos mais pesados do que o metano, que de outra forma reduziriam a pureza do gás natural liquefeito. A corrente de gás residual da coluna de destilação é comprimida até uma pressão intermediária, resfriada sob pressão para condensá-la, e é depois expandida até uma baixa pressão, para formar a corrente de gás natural liquefeita.
