Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA FABRICAçãO DE XILOSE DE ELEVADA PUREZA". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para fabricar xilose por meio da extração de hemicelulose a partir de um material celulósico, tal como por meio de um método de extração cáustica a frio, concentrando o extrato, tal como por meio de nanofiltração, para um fluxo de hemicáustico contendo hemicelulose com mais de cerca de 85% em peso de teor de xilano, e em seguida hidrolisando o xilano do fluxo de hemicáustico para xilose. A elevada concentração de xilano dentro do fluxo de hemicáustico concentrado permite a hidrolisação do xilano para xilose de categoria alimentar e, opcionalmente, hidrogenação da xilose para xilitol sem a necessidade de uma etapa de separação cromatográfica conforme requerido anteriormente.
