Abstract

SìNTESE DE áCIDOS GRAXOS POLIINSATURADOS DE CADEIA LONCA POR éLULAS RECOMBINANTES. A presente invenção relaciona-se aos métodos de síntese de ácidos graxos poliinsaturados de cadeia longa, especialmente ácido eicosapentaenóico, ácido docosapentaenóico e ácido docosahexaenóico, em células recombinantes, como células de levedura ou de plantas. Também são fornecidas células ou plantas recombinantes que produzem ácidos graxos poliinsaturados de cadeia longa. Além disso, a presente invenção relaciona-se a um grupo de novas enzimas que possuem atividade de desaturase ou elongase que podem ser usadas nos métodos de síntese de ácidos graxos poliinsaturados de cadeia longa.
