Abstract
CéLULA ALCALINA DE INVóLUCRO PLANO. A presente invenção refere-se a uma célula alcalina contendo um invólucro plano, de preferência na forma de um cubóide. O invólucro pode ser soldado a laser e fechado com uma tampa metálica introduzida como parte de um conjunto de tampa. Uma parte de uma vedação isolante pode ser mantida comprimida entre uma luva que se estende da tampa metálica e uma cavilha do coletor de corrente do anodo dentro do conjunto de tampa. O invólucro pode incluir um mecanismo de respiro, de preferência um respiro acanalado que pode ser ativado quando a pressão do gás dentro da célula atingir um valor limite tipicamente de cerca de 1,724 x 10¬ 3¬ a 5,515 x 10¬ 3¬ Pa (250 a 800 psig). A célula pode ter um respiro suplementar soldado a laser que pode ser ativado a níveis de pressão mais altos.
