Abstract
CEPA MUTANTE DE E. COLI, E, METODO PARA PRODUZIR UMA SUBSTáNCIA úTIL. De acordo com a presente invenção, cepa mutante de E. coli tendo DNA cromossómico que é pelo menos 470 kbp mais curto do que o de uma cepa de E. coli de tipo selvagem demonstra uma tal propriedade que o número de células após um determinado período de cultura é maior do que o de uma cepa de tipo selvagem. Assim, por cultivo da cepa mutante em um meio, de modo a gerar e acumular uma substância útil na cultura, uma substância útil, como proteínas, peptideos, aminoácidos, ácidos nucleicos, vitaminas, sacarídeos, ácidos orgânicos e lipideos, pode ser produzida de modo eficiente.
