Abstract
MéTODO DE INJETAR OXIGêNIO EM BANHO LOCALIZADO DENTRO DE UM FORNO METALúRGICO. Um método de injetar oxigênio em um banho localizado dentro de um forno metalúrgico tendo uma atmosfera aquecida do forno na qual oxigênio e combustível são injetados em um ou mais bocais tendo passagens de configuração convergente-divergente sob condições de fluxo estrangulado para produzir jato ou jatos supersónicos descarregados das passagens. Combustível é injetado em locais circunferenciais internos das passagens assim para conferir uma estrutura aos jatos sendo descarregados que têm uma região circunferencial exterior contendo uma mistura de combustível e oxigênio e uma região central contendo essencialmente oxigênio. Tal jato estruturado na descarga interage com a atmosfera de forno para criar uma zona de mistura-cisalhamento exterior na qual a camada circunferencial exterior se mistura com a atmosfera aquecida do forno e se auto-inflama para produzir um invólucro de chama circundando um jato supersónico de oxigênio. O jato de oxigênio e invólucro de chama podem ser dirigidos contra um banho contido dentro do forno metalúrgico para injeção de oxigênio no banho.
