Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement de l'arsenic, par laquelle il est possible de traiter de l'arsenic, qui est contenu dans un minerai de cuivre contenant de l'arsenic, sous une forme stable appropriée à un empilage et un stockage à long terme. Ce procédé de traitement de l'arsenic est caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend : une étape de grillage servant au grillage du minerai de cuivre contenant de l'arsenic sous une atmosphère non oxydante, et séparer les pyrites de cuivre des substances volatiles qui contiennent des sulfures d'arsenic ; une étape de traitement thermique servant à traiter thermiquement les éléments volatils obtenus lors de l'étape de grillage, sous une atmosphère non oxydante, amenant les sulfures d'arsenic présent parmi les éléments volatils à fondre ; une étape de pulvérisation servant à pulvériser les substances volatiles après l'étape de traitement thermique ; et une étape de refusion servant à chauffer et à refondre les substances volatiles ultérieures à l'étape de pulvérisation.
