La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation d'un côté de cet appareil; La fig. 11, est une vue partielle corres pondante, pour une autre position des parties; La fig. 2 est la vue correspondante de l'autre côté; La fig. 3 est une vue en coupe verticale transversale, suivant la ligne 3-3 des fig. 1 et 2, l'appareil étant vu en bout de derrière, c'est-à-dire de gauche de la fig. 1 et de droite de la fig. 2; La fig. 4 représente séparément l'aiguille, partie cri coupe verticale;
Lorsqu'on rapproche le bras b2 du bras b à la manière des branches de ciseaux, le secteur denté c actionné par le bras b2-b4 fait tourner, par l'intermédiaire du pignon c2 de la roue à ro chet c3, du cliquet & et du plateau c4, l'arbre d dans le sens de la flèche (fig. 2);
Pour se servir de cette appareil, on le fait avancer en le poussant à la main sur deux épaisseurs de tissu superposées, en suivant un contour tracé sur le tissu de dessus et en actionnant le bras b2 de manière à commu niquer, comme expliqué plus haut, un mou vement de rotation continu à l'arbre d du volant et un mouvement d'oscillation au bras g portant l'aiguille h;
Pendant ce dépla cement de l'appareil, le levier à trois bras est maintenu dans sa position, par le fait que la pointe du cliquet j est en engagement avec la périphérie du disque i2, entre les deux encoches; le bras j4 de ce levier a amené la rampe excentrée j5 dans le trajet de la queue du cliquet el, de sorte que les plateaux<I>e et f</I> seront débrayés l'un de l'autre au moment où le cliquet e' passe devant la rampe<B>j</B> l;
Apparatus for passing a marker thread through two layers of superimposed fabric. The present invention relates to an apparatus which is moved by hand; following a determined contour, on two layers of superimposed fabric, and which is intended to pass a thread through these two layers of fabric, forming, following this contour, a succession of non-stopped stitches, with loose projecting loops on the underside of the bottom fabric, so that by slightly separating the two layers of fabric and cutting the thread between them, the stitches and loops remaining on the two opposite sides form two symmetrical patterns on the two layers of fabric. This apparatus thus makes it possible to obtain two symmetrical pieces of fabric, for example, for sleeves, trouser legs or the like.
The apparatus according to the invention has the peculiarity that a needle is mounted at the end of an arm, which receives an intermittent reciprocating movement of a sufficiently long stroke for the needle to penetrate into and out of the tissue. after having formed and left each time a loose loop of thread on the underside of the bottom fabric, and a locking device automatically immobilizes the device on the fabrics, when the needle enters the two layers of fabric , and then releases the device, at the end of the needle penetration stroke, which leaves the tissues and is automatically stopped at the end of the stroke, this automatic device limiting each movement of the apparatus on the tissues and , by this, the separation of two successive loose loops.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the apparatus for passing a thread, according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of one side of this apparatus; Fig. 11, is a corresponding partial view, for another position of the parts; Fig. 2 is the corresponding view from the other side; Fig. 3 is a view in transverse vertical section, taken along line 3-3 of FIGS. 1 and 2, the apparatus being seen at the end from behind, that is to say from the left of FIG. 1 and on the right of FIG. 2; Fig. 4 shows separately the needle, cry part vertical section;
Fig. 5 schematically shows the stitches and loops of thread formed by the apparatus through two layers of fabric.
The apparatus for passing a wire, as shown in the drawing, comprises a casing ca, on the front part of which an arm b is fixed; on this is articulated at b1 an arm b2 with the interposition of a leaf spring b3 between the two arms.
The arm b2 comprises a protrusion b4, actuating, by toothed sectors b5 b ', a toothed sector c pivoted at c 1 on the casing ca. The arm b2 comprises, at its rear end, a boss b1 serving as a support for the wool-spring b3 and forming a stop on the fixed arm b.
The toothed sector c is engaged (fig. 2 and 3) with a toothed pinion c2, integral with a ratchet wheel c.3 and mounted idle on the shaft d of a flywheel dl journalled in the housing a. On this shaft d is wedged a plate c4 carrying a pawl c5 held in engagement by a res sort c6 with the ratchet wheel c3.
When the arm b2 is brought closer to the arm b in the manner of the branches of scissors, the toothed sector c actuated by the arm b2-b4 rotates, via the pinion c2 of the ratchet wheel c3, of the pawl & and of the plate c4, the shaft d in the direction of the arrow (fig. 2);
this shaft d is not actuated when the arm b2 returns to its initial position, under the action of the leaf spring b3, so that the shaft of the flywheel dl is thus driven in a continuous rotational movement by the arm control <I> b </I> b2. On the shaft <I> d </I> is wedged, on the other side of the flywheel dl, a plate e which carries a pawl el held in engagement by a spring e2 with the notch f 1 of the plate f mounted crazy on the shaft <I> d. </I> This plate <I> f </I> carries a button f 2 engaged in a slide g1 of an arm g pivoted in g2 at the upper part of the housing.
At its lower end, the left arm carries a needle which is inclined slightly to the horizontal hori zontal; this needle is fed with thread by the coil hl supported by the axis h2; the thread passes through thread guides lai and M on its path from the spool <I> h '</I> to the needle la.
The needle-holder arm g receives an oscillation movement around its axis g2 by the crank plate f driven by the plate e secured to the shaft d of the flywheel d1.
The apparatus rests on the fabric by toothed wheels i i mounted on the axle i 1 journalled to the lower part of the housing a; a disc i2 provided with notches i3 is also wedged on this axis. These are intended to receive a pawl j subjected to the action of a spring j l; this pawl constitutes one of the arms of a lever, articulated at j2 on the housing a .. Another arm of this lever, j 3 is located in the path of a heel 91 of the needle-holder arm g.
A third arm, j4 carries an offset ramp jl, intended to act on the tail of the pawl e1 ensuring the drive of the crank plate f by the plate e; this arm j4 ends in a nozzle <B> j </B> l, intended to come to be placed on the path of a tenon f ', arranged near the periphery of the plate f for driving the needle holder arm .
To use this device, it is moved forward by pushing it by hand on two layers of superimposed fabric, following an outline drawn on the top fabric and activating the arm b2 so as to communicate, as explained above. , a continuous rotational movement at the shaft d of the flywheel and an oscillating movement at the arm g carrying the needle h;
when the needle h enters the two superimposed layers of fabric Ic L (fig. â), the device is automatically stopped, the pawl j being held by its spring j 1 in engagement with one of the notches il of the disc i2 and thus preventing the rotation of the toothed wheels <I> ii, </I> that is to say preventing the device from rolling on the fabric (position shown in fig. 1).
At the end of the needle penetration stroke into the fabric, the heel g3 of the needle holder arm g (position shown in fig. L ') collides with the arm j 3 of the three-arm lever, which it oscillates around its articulation axis j2; the pawl j is released from the notch i3 of the disk i2. The device can then roll on the fabric by a distance x (fig: 5) corresponding to the spacing of two successive notches, until the pawl j comes back into engagement with the following notch i3.
During this displacement of the apparatus, the three-armed lever is maintained in its position, by the fact that the point of the pawl j is in engagement with the periphery of the disc i2, between the two notches; the arm j4 of this lever has brought the eccentric ramp j5 in the path of the shank of the pawl el, so that the plates <I> e and f </I> will be disengaged from each other when the ratchet passes in front of the <B> j </B> l ramp;
at the same time the tenon f g of the crank plate f will have come into contact with the ta lon j r of the arm j '. The plate <I> f </I> is thus no longer driven by the shaft d of the flywheel. During this time, the needle holder arm g will have returned to its original position (fig. 1), causing the needle h to come out of the fabric and the oar end of travel back, where it will remain motionless.
As soon as the pawl j has returned to engagement with the next notch of the disc i2, that is to say as soon as the device is immobilized again with respect to the fabric, the pawl e1 is brought back into engagement by its spring e2 with the notch <I> f 1 </I> of the plate <I> f; </I> the crank plate f again actuates the needle holder arm g and the needle h reinserts the thread to through the two layers of <I> kl </I> fabric and form a new loop of yarn m.
When we have finished following, by means of the apparatus, the outline traced on the fabric k, the two layers of fabric <I> k </I> l and the thread is cut between the two fabrics; we thus obtain, for the two opposite sides of the tissues, two symmetrical lines, one formed by the <I> nt </I> loops and the other by the rt points (fig. 5).
So that the needle h does not drag the thread o when leaving the fabrics, it has, on either side of the hole p (fig. 4), grooves <B> -Pi </B> p2 in the upper face and in the lower face of the needle, so as to reduce the friction between the thread and the needle hole; the thread, which has been introduced through the fabrics, is thus easily retained by the friction which is exerted between the thread and the fabrics, and forms a loop in (fig. 5) when the needle leaves the fabrics.
It is obvious that the embodiment described and shown has been given only by way of example; thus, for example, the device for controlling the rotational movement of the shaft of the flywheel of the apparatus could be other than that shown; we could also replace this control by hand by a control by a small electric motor, mounted on the device and receiving the current by flexible conductors connected to a socket-outlet:
