Air filters for cold rooms, cooling containers, ice boxes and similar equipment. The invention relates to an air filter for cold rooms, cooling containers, ice cabinets and similar devices. It is important in such devices that fresh air is constantly supplied to the interior space containing the food or the like. However, the air must not enter uncleaned.
The purpose of the present invention is to create an air filter which allows fresh outside air to enter only in a dust-free and sterile state.
The essence of the invention is that a sleeve contains a displaceable piston with sieve bottoms, between which a homicidal agent is located, one compartment of the sleeve with filter material, the other compartment is filled with ge insulating material.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. Fig. 1 shows a refrigerator provided with the new filter in vertical section; FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section through the new filter on a larger scale, and FIG. 3 shows the piston, which can be displaced in the filter tube, on an even larger scale.
The illustrated refrigerator owns. a double outer wall a, b made of wood and insulating material and an inner wall c made of zinc sheet. A double-walled outer cover d, e made of wood and insulating material and an inner cover f made of sheet zinc are also provided. There is a cavity between the walls a, b and c, as well as between the outer ceiling d; e and the inner ceiling f . The ice used for cooling is on the top f, g. The melt water flows in the spaces between the walls a, b and c down, collects at the bottom and is lb through the pipes. derived.
The filters h are arranged in the side wall and in the bottom of the refrigerator. The formation of this filter is clearly ersicht Lich from Fig. 2 and 3.
Each filter consists of a sleeve i which is screwed into a metal tube k which is firmly inserted into the refrigerator. At the two ends, the sleeve i is respectively through a wire screen m. n closed. A displaceable piston o with a handle p is provided in the sleeve i. The handle p can be pivoted about the axis q. The flask o has two sieve trays r and s. A germicidal material v, for example super-manganese acid potassium, is arranged between these two sieve floors.
The sieve bottom r is inserted into the flask o so that the germicidal material v can easily be replaced at any time.
The interior of the sleeve i on the left side of the piston o is filled with insulating material t, while the space of the sleeve located to the right of the piston o is filled with filter material u. Both the insulating material and the filter material consist of cork pieces in the form of cork grist, which is impregnated with a water-repellent send agent.
The best way to impregnate the cork meal is to place the cork pieces on a sieve with a narrow mesh and pour thin pitch over them. The sieve is shaken to remove the excess pitch and prevent the cork pieces from sticking together. It has been shown that in this way a very suitable insulating and filter material is obtained, the individual parts of which do not stick to one another.
For the filter material it is advisable to choose somewhat finer cork grist, the individual pieces of which, however, have to be more than 1 1/2 to 2 mm in size. Somewhat coarser cork grist with a diameter of about 5 mm can be selected as the insulating material t.
By moving the piston o in the sleeve i it is possible to reduce the size of the spaces for the filter material i4 and for the insulating material t-.
