Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes aus einem Phenol und einem hydroaromatischen Ringketon. Gegenstand dieses Patentes ist ein Ver fahren zur Darstellung eines Kondensations produktes aus einem Phenol und einem hydroaromatischen Ringketon, dadurch gekenn zeichnet, dass man 2 Mol. o-gresol und 1 Mol. Cyklohexanon mit Hilfe einer Halo genwasserstoffsäure kondensiert. Das Produkt kristallisiert aus verdünnter Essigsäure in rechtwinkligen weisser.
Täfelchen vom Schmelzpunkt 186 0: Es soll als Zwischen produkt zur Herstellung von Farbstoffen verwendet werden.
<I>Beispiel</I> Man erhitzt eine Mischung von 100 Teilen Cyklohexanon, 480 Teilen o-Kresol, 580 Tei len Eisessig und 190 Teilen 38 0%iger Salz säure auf ungefähr 500. Die ursprünglich durchsichtige Lösung wird nach kurzer Zeit gelbrot und nach einigen Stunden tiefviolett. Es scheidet sich eine harte Kristallmasse in reichlicher Menge ab. Man unterbricht das Erwärmen nach ungefähr 30 Stunden.
Nach dem Abkühlen wird die erstarrte Kristall masse abfiltriert. Der tiefviolett gefärbte Rückstand wird beim Waschen mit wenig 50 0% iger Essigsäure fast farblos und stellt das neue Kondensationsprodukt (vermutlich 4 . 4'-Dioxy-3 . 3'-dimethyldiphenyl-1.1'-cyklo- hexan) dar.

The subject of this patent is a process for the preparation of a condensation product of a phenol and a hydroaromatic ring ketone, characterized in that 2 moles of o-gresol and 1 mole of cyclohexanone are condensed with the aid of a hydrohalic acid. The product crystallizes from dilute acetic acid in rectangular whites.
Tablet with a melting point of 186 0: it is intended to be used as an intermediate product in the manufacture of dyes.
<I> Example </I> A mixture of 100 parts of cyclohexanone, 480 parts of o-cresol, 580 parts of glacial acetic acid and 190 parts of 38% hydrochloric acid is heated to about 500. The originally transparent solution soon turns yellow-red and after a few hours deep purple. A hard crystal mass is deposited in abundance. The heating is interrupted after about 30 hours.
After cooling, the solidified crystal mass is filtered off. The deep violet colored residue becomes almost colorless when washed with a little 50% strength acetic acid and represents the new condensation product (probably 4,4'-dioxy-3,3'-dimethyldiphenyl-1,1'-cyclohexane).
