Mechanical staple. The object of the present invention is a mechanical clip comprising two distinct parts carried respectively by two parts of objects which it allows to assemble so that one is removable with respect to the other, the one .of said pieces of the clip being a button head and neck and the other having a passage for the head of said button.
This clip is characterized in that -that one of -two parts which has the passage for the button carries a mechanism which itself comprises a key movable control member in which a recess is made opposite said passage, at least one ramp lever and a stud engaged with this ramp, lever and stud, one of which is mounted on the movable organ and the other on said part which carries the mechanism, with the aim that, according to the relative positions of the stud and the axis (read lever, the passage of the button is open nii narrowed.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, a practical execution of the following clip. the invention, adapted to a suspender.
The end-. 1 is a sectional view taken along the line A-B. Of FIG. 2, the movable control member 10 being assumed to be removed and the button 6 being clamped between the levers; Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken along the line C-D of FIG. 1, the control organ 10 being. in place and in position d (# closed; Fig. 3 is a view similar to that of Fig. 1, but in which the levers are separated and the button free.
The clip shown is used to assemble Heaven parts 7 and 8 of a suspender. Part 8 carries a part 1 forming a cup at 2. in which two levers 4 forming jaws can pivot about their axis 3 and the shape of which clearly appears in FIGS. 1 and 3. In the bottom of the bowl 2 is formed a hole 5 for. let pass the head of a button 6 attached to the tab 7 of the suspender.
The part 1 is secured by a strip of material 9 to the part 8 of the jar retelle. And carries, rotatably mounted on it a button 10 which constitutes the control member .de the clip and has a recess in which comes fit the head of the button 6 when the two parts of the clip are assembled. The button 10 is mounted on the part 1 by means of two small tabs 14 fixed under it and which engage in a circular groove 15 provided for this purpose in the part 1. The underside of the button 10 is provided with two small studs 11 carrying rollers 12 intended to roll against ramps 13 presented by the peripheries of the levers 4.
This device works as follows: It will be assumed in the position of fig. 3. In the particular case of such a jar, we pass the edge of the bottom or the sock over the head of the button 6 which is then inserted, thus furnished, in the hole 5 of the bowl 2. ; after which, the knob 10 is rotated in the direction of the arrow f; the rollers 12 roll on the ramps 13 of the levers 4 and cause these levers to pivot around their axes 3; as .and as the cover 10 is rotated, the levers come closer and grip the neck of the button 6. The device is then in the position of FIG. 1.
To release button 6, we operate in reverse order; the levers 4 can move back as soon as traction is exerted on the button 6, since the rollers 12 have returned to the position of FIG. 3.
It should be noted that in the position shown in FIG. 1, .the rollers 12 rest on flats 12 'provided near one of the ends of the levers 4. Thanks to this arrangement, it is understood that said rollers cannot go back to release said levers and the button 6 only under the action 'a force exerted on the cover 10 in the opposite direction of the closing movement, sufficient to bring said rollers out of their flats 12'.
It should also be noted that the sinks 4 each have a notch 4 '. These notches are arranged in such a way that when the rollers 12 return to the rear for the opening of the jaws formed by the levers, they bear on the curved portion of said notches and consequently force the jaws to open completely. (fig. 3).
It goes without saying that the .dispositif according to the invention can be used as a clasp in handbags or other similar applications, the button and the female part of the tines to receive it and to lock it being respectively fixed to the two parts of the bag to be closed, or for stapling -belts, straps, -etc.
