La fig. 1 est une élévation latérale d'une première forme d'exécution; La fig. 2 en est un plan du support, le bandeau étant enlevé; La fig. 3 est un plan .d'une deuxième forme d'exécution montrant le support, le bandeau étant également enlevé, et La fig. 4 est une perspective du bandeau enlevé du support; La fig. 5 est un plan d'une troisième forme d'exécution, le bandeau étant enlevé; La fig. 6 est une perspective de cette troi sième forme d'exécution complète;
La fig. 7 est une élévation d'une qua trième forme d'exécution; La fig. 8 est une élévation d'une extrémité du dispositif représenté à la fig. 7, -et La fig. 9 est une perspective de l'une des extrémités du bandeau, tel qu'il est employé dans la forme d'exécution du dispositif re présenté à la fig. 7, à plus grande échelle;
Cleaning device usable in particular as a nail polisher. The present invention relates to a cleaning device which can be used in particular as a nail polisher. This device is characterized in that it comprises a curved support formed of an elastic part, of elongated shape, and a band used for cleaning, which is stretched between the ends of the support, so that this band is hand held. under tension due to the elasticity of the support.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a side elevation of a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a plane of the support, the band being removed; Fig. 3 is a plan of a second embodiment showing the support, the band also being removed, and FIG. 4 is a perspective of the strip removed from the support; Fig. 5 is a plan of a third embodiment, the band being removed; Fig. 6 is a perspective of this third complete embodiment;
Fig. 7 is an elevation of a fourth embodiment; Fig. 8 is an elevation of one end of the device shown in FIG. 7, -and fig. 9 is a perspective of one of the ends of the band, as used in the embodiment of the device shown in FIG. 7, on a larger scale;
Fig. 10 is an elevation of a fifth embodiment; Fig. 11 is a plan of the support, the strip having been removed; Fig. 12 is a partial elevation, on a large scale, of one of the ends of the device shown in FIG. 10, and FIGS. 13, 14 and 15 are illustrative views showing the means for mounting the strip on the support, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 10.
-Now referring to fia. 1, 2 and 4 of the accompanying drawing, the device shown here comprises an elastic band of steel a, curved and having the shape of a handle. This strip constitutes the support. It presents, near its ends, two grooves b arranged parallel to the ends of the strip and communicating with these ends by grooves b 'arranged perpendicularly to the main grooves b. The grooves b, V are thus in the shape of <B> T </B> (see (fig. 2).
This device further comprises, an endless band (fig. 4) made of hemp or cotton fabric or another similar material c, constituting a back for a piece of chamois leather (buckskin), the ban deau, when lying flat, being of shorter length than the distance between the ends of the curved support. The fabric c is of a length such that the support a must be folded to allow the band to be slipped into the two grooves b by entering them through the part b1 of the grooves.
The support a and the polishing strip c, c 'are thus kept taut, the strip c, c' being extended between the ends of the support, as shown in FIG. 1. When used as a nail polisher, the polishing strip will easily adapt to the curvature of the nails, which can be very easily cleaned and polished.
The leather of cha month cl is sewn to fabric c along its two edges, as in d, as well as in the center, as in e, so as to form a reinforcement- month c <B> '</B> is sewn to the fabric c along its length, where the tension is released by a certain amount, due to the open ends of the parts b 'of the <B> T-shaped grooves. </B> The central seam e will have thus also a good-effect, when using the device, as long as it makes it possible to easily polish the edges of the nails,
these edges of the nails falling naturally in the central part of the polishing band, on the seam.
It will be appreciated that the support of the device, acting as a handle, may have any suitable shape, however the support must be of such shape that the polishing strip is kept under tension.
r2 instead of the <B> T </B> shaped grooves b, V (shown in fig. 2), straight grooves f can be provided, as in the second embodiment shown in fia. 3, these grooves f opening one on one edge of the support and the other on the other edge of this support, as shown, small latches f being fixed to the support <I> a, </I> - so as to close the open ends of these grooves and to keep the polish band in place in these grooves. The grooves could be arranged in any other suitable manner.
To facilitate the handling of the device, two rings g for the fingers are provided in these two embodiments, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, spaced from each other on the curved elastic band serving as a support, these rings being intended to receive the fingers of the person using the device and being fixed to the support by small tabs a ' stamped.
In the embodiments described below, the strip, instead of being endless, is of finite length.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the band h has at each end -des transverse loops la 'in which are introduced the arms j of the support -f port. These arms j are introduced into the loops h 'from the opposite sides to the two ends of the band, as shown, which makes it possible to simply form the support f by elastic thread in the shape of an elongated Z,
the central part being arched (see fig. 6) to give the necessary tension to the band h.
In the form of execution represented in figs. 7 to 9, the support a is practically of the form shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 and present at each end of the grooves b, the ends of the band k being provided with metal clips l which penetrate into the grooves b and thus hold the band in place.
These clips l (see Figs. 8 and 9) are small <B> U, </B> shaped metal bands which are tightly pressed onto the ends of the band k. However, so that the clamps l lie flat against the support a, as shown in FIG. 7, one of the branches of the clamp, l ', that is to say the branch which is against the support when the band is in place, is: of shorter length than the other branch (see fi -. 8 and 9).
The band k curves outward through the groove b from the end of this shorter leg, and the shape of the clip forces the clip to lie flat against the support a when the band is tense, and therefore no impediment is created.
A2 cut-out tabs are provided on the support to facilitate the operation of the device. The band <B> le </B> has three rows of seams k ', k2 and kg, as described previously-and, in general, it is formed in the same way as the band c, c' described with reference to FIG. 4.
According to the embodiment shown in FIGS. 10 to 15, the grooves b, b1 at the ends of the support a are omitted and an arcuate elastic band is simply used, for example a band of spring steel or other similar material m. The cleats ma 'can be cut from the strip m, so as to receive a handle ma, or else a handle can be provided in any other way. The m3 ends of the support are turned slightly downwards.
The ends of the band n are provided with metal clips o which are somewhat in the shape of <B> U. </B> One of the branches o 'of the <B> U </B> is folded inside, at o2, and the end of the band n is fixed between this folded part o2 and the branch o1 of the <B> U </B>-shaped clamp (see fig. 12, to 15).
A space p is left between this part. o2 re bent and the other branch o3. of the clip in the shape of <B> U. </B> When in use, the clip o is rolled up in the end of the band n, as shown in fi: g . 13 to 15, until the strip n-, nested between parts o 'and o2 of the clamp o, is completely around the outer side of the clamp (see fig. 12 and 15).
Spaces p remain between the strip n and the part o3 of the clamp, and the ends m3 of the support m are placed in these spaces, the support being re-curved to allow this introduction more easily. The tendency of this support m to extend keeps the band taut and, as the end m3 of the support m rests on the metal of the clamp o (fig. 12), there is no possibility for the headband n being damaged by the support m.
The parts of the headband which are around the ends of the clamps will allow the device to be used to penetrate small corners or cracks.
The headband may be of chamois leather, sandpaper or the like, depending on the particular use for which the device is intended.
Although this device can be used in particular as a nail polisher, it is obvious that, depending on the nature of the band, it could be used for other purposes. For example, if the polishing band is replaced by a sandpaper band, the device can be used to clean the heads of golf rods and other similar objects.
