Description

Rohrzange, insbesondere Schwedenrohrzange.

Pipe wrench, especially Swedish pipe wrench. Pipe wrenches, in particular the designs known under the name "Swedish pipe wrenches", are usually of great length in relation to the mouth width of the respective types of pliers. Since the main weight of the pliers must now be placed in the mouth, which is strong for reasons of strength, the Handling of such pliers, particularly the larger types, is often quite strenuous. The use of such pliers therefore often tires the audience very quickly because the lever arm on which the weight of the pliers acts is relatively large is.

This handling is made even more difficult when the pliers to capture sen of pipes in corners and hard-to-reach places is required, because then the wide and usually in an angle of about 90 to the handle arranged mouth grasping the pipe only with difficulty or not at all possible. A wide mouth is also a considerable disadvantage when it comes to gripping or gripping, for example, narrow nuts etc. in the case of tightly fitting pipe screw connections. to loosen or tighten.

All of these disadvantages are a consequence of the exclusive use of ordinary S.-M. steel or other types of steel, which are below certain larger cross-sections and mouth widths respectively. Do not allow a reduction in the total weight by significant amounts for reasons of strength.

The invention, which has a pipe wrench, in particular a Swedish pipe wrench for Ge, eliminates these disadvantages. The invention consists in the fact that the pliers are made of Siemens-Martin steel with the addition of chromium-containing metal in order to achieve small dimensions and a low weight.

The use of such a material can result in a significant reduction in dimensions, especially a reduction in cross-sections, a narrower width of the mouth, etc. and, as a consequence, a weight reduction of up to about 33% compared to pliers of the same type, size and strength can be achieved from ordinary S.M. steel. By reducing the width of the jaws, the pliers are then able to capture even narrower nuts, etc. in the case of narrow pipes.

If the jaw of the pliers has an angle of about 75 ° or less, expediently about 45o, to a handle, then there is every possibility of using the pliers in general, without the person using the pliers becoming tired prematurely. In order to eliminate the disadvantage of the narrow handle caused by the cross-sectional reduction, the pressure leg of the pliers is advantageously increasingly reinforced in the direction of the end of the handle, for example spreads tert.

So that pliers with wide jaws can be used while maintaining the reduced cross-sections and the reduced weight, the jaws are expediently reinforced in the back by one or more ribs.

In the drawing, an example embodiment of the subject of the invention, a so-called Swedish pipe wrench and a detailed variant are shown.

Fig. 1 shows the pipe wrench with an inclined mouth in a side view, with a small mouth opening; Figs. 2 and 3 show the same pliers against the pressure leg and seen against the sleeve; Fig. 4 shows the same pliers in side view with the largest mouth opening, as well as sections along the lines A-B, C-D and D --- F, while Fig. 5 shows a view and a cross section of the sleeve along the line G-H.

Fig. 6 shows the hook of the embodiment, and Fig. 7 shows the detail variant.

In view of the great length of these pliers, the ends of the handles are shown broken off.

In Fig. 1, the main hook of the pliers is marked with 1 and the pliers jaw attached to its upper end with a. The other jaw b forms the upper end of the pressure leg 2, which is guided in a slot in the main hook 1. The pressure leg 2 is, as the figures show, increasingly widened towards the end of the handle c and rounded on the outer side to facilitate the use of the pliers. Through the bolt 3 of the cranked leg 2 is hingedly connected to the sleeve 4, which is guided on the attached to the main hook 1 other pincer grip d.

A thread 5 is attached to this handle, so that by turning the nut 6 a longitudinal displacement of the sleeve 4 and thus an adjustment of the pliers for different mouth widths is possible. The attached to the leg 2, on both sides of the handle outstanding pin 7 is used to guide the handle 2 on the back of the hook 1 when a mutual displacement environment of these pliers parts is made for the purpose of setting different mouth widths. The sleeve 4 is reinforced by ribs or beads 8, since the sleeve experiences a strong Druckbean stress when using the pliers. The extraordinarily favorably chosen cross-sections of the mouth, the two handles and the sleeve can be seen from the illustrations.

Fig. 6 particularly shows the narrow design of the pliers jaw a of the main hook 1, which corresponds to the width of the jaw b on the pressure leg 2. Fig. 7 shows a representation of a jaw ca again, which is wider than the main hook and in which a reinforcing rib is attached in the back; also the cheek b of the mouth is as wide as the cheek a and provided with a rib.

The mouth of the pipe wrench shown forms an angle of about 45 o with handle d. The angle could of course also be different.

The pliers shown are made of Siemens Martin steel with an addition of chromium-containing metal, for. B. Chromium-Molybdenum, Chromium-Manganese or Chromium-Vanadium,
