Beispiel <I>1:</I> 39 Gewichtsteile Anthrachinon - 2 . 1.

Process for the preparation of a quality dye of the anthraquinone acridone series. One leads into the Bz ring of anthraquinone-2. 1 (N) -benzene- or -naphthalenacridones a - aminoarylaminoanthraquinone radicals, namely 1,4- or 1,5-aminobenzoylaminoanthraquinone, one obtains anthrimide-like products which are themselves dyes.
Such anthrimides can be obtained, for example, by replacing mobile halogen in the Bz ring of anthraquinone-2.1 (N) -acridones with aminoaroylaminoanthraquinone radicals.
These dyes color the fiber from the vat, depending on the nature of the indifferent substituents (alkyl, o-alkyl, o-aryl groups or halogen) still present in the Bz ring, in brown-red, purple, gray, blue to green shades of good washing fastness but changing chlorine fastness.
It has now been found that these products, insofar as they are unsubstituted in the Bz ring in a position adjacent to the u - aminoaroylaminoanthraquinone radical, are converted quantitatively into new dyes by treatment with anhydrous acidic condensing agents. As such condensing agents, sulfuric acid monohydrate, sulfuric acid with a low content of free S003, chlorosulfonic acid, aluminum chloride and others can be used, for example.
When using sulfuric acid monohydrate, sulfuric acid containing S03 or chlorosulfonic acid, the reaction starts at normal temperature. Intermediate products are formed here which can be converted into the end products either in the solution or after previous isolation by means of oxidizing agents such as nitrites, chlorine liquor, halogens, iron chloride, manganese dioxide and others. When the halogens act, halogen atoms may still enter.
But if you work from the outset at an elevated temperature, for example 50 to 80 ', then the oxidation takes place at the same time, with the sulfuric acid respectively. Chlorosulfonic acid is partially reduced to <B> SO, </B>. If aluminum chloride is used, one has to work in the melt, whereby it is advisable to treat the latter with chlorine lye for the purpose of cleaning the dyes.
The new dyes are generally dark powders, insoluble in water, alcohol, alkalis and dilute mineral acids, and soluble in trace amounts in high-boiling organic solvents. They are easily soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with an intense mostly bright blue, green-blue, green or red color. They are easily soluble in the alkaline hydrosulfite vat and color the vegetable fibers from them after oxidation in dark tones, which are characterized by their abundance and their excellent fastness properties. They are also particularly suitable for Rongalit potash stuff printing.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a vat dye of the anthraquinone acridone series by treating anthraquinone 2. 1 (N) -1'2 '- (N) 3'-methoxy-6' - (amino-5 -ben- zoylaminoanthraquinone) - benzolacridone with anhydrous acidic condensing agents. As such, for example, sulfuric acid monohydrate or SO3-containing sulfuric acid or chlorosulfonic acid come into question.
The reaction product obtained in this way is insoluble in water and organic solvents, easily soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a clear blue color and, from the red-brown hydrosulfite vat on cotton, gives real black-brown shades. Example <I> 1: </I> 39 parts by weight of anthraquinone - 2. 1.
(N) - .1'2 '- (N) .8'-methoxy-6'-chlorobenzolacridone (obtained by reacting 2-methoxy-5-chloroaniline according to the method of DRP <B> 237276 </B> with 1-chloranothrachinone-2 @ -earboxylic acid and two-hour heating of the dried 2 'methoxy-5'-chloro-1-anilidoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid with benzoyl chloride to 13.0 to 160'), 35 parts by weight 1-amino-5-benzoylamino-anthraquinone,
8 parts by weight of powdered anhydrous potassium carbonate, 1 part by weight of copper acetate, 500 parts by weight of naphthalene are heated to boiling for 3 hours, then. is diluted with 1000 parts by weight of chlorobenzene and suctioned off at <B> 50 '</B>. The dye, isolated as usual, forms a dark green crystalline powder, which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid in olive green and colors the fiber olive green with a red-violet vat.
By heating the intermediate product for half an hour with ten times the amount of sulfuric acid monohydrate to <B> 70 '</B>, a deep blue solution is obtained with the development of S0, which, when poured into water, separates a brownish color. It forms an almost black powder, isolated and dried in the usual way, which is insoluble in water and organic solvents, is easily soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a clear blue color and dyes cotton in real black-brown shades from the red-brown hydrosulfite vat.
Example <I> 2: </I> 39 parts by weight of Anthrachi.non - 2. 1 (N) - 1'2 '- (N) 8'-methoxy-6'-chlorobenzolacridone (obtained by reacting 3-methoxy-5-chloroaniline according to the method of DRP 237276 with 1-chloro-anthraquinone-2- carboxylic acid and di-.
hourly heating of the dried 2'-methoxy-5'-chloro-1-anilidoanthraquinone-2-carboxylic acid with benzoyl chloride to 130 to 160 '), 35 parts by weight of 1-amino-5-benzoylamino-anthraquinone, 8 Parts by weight of powdered anhydrous galium carbonate, 1 part by weight of copper acetate, 500 parts by weight of naphthalene are heated to boiling for 3 hours, then it is diluted with 1000 parts by weight of chlorobenzene and filtered off at 50 °.
The how. Usually isolated dye forms a dark green crystalline powder, which dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid in olive green and colors the fiber olive green with a red-violet bottle.
The intermediate product obtained in this way is dissolved in seven times the amount of chlorosulfonic acid and then kept at about 50 for 1/2 hour. The resulting blue solution is poured onto ice after cooling. The deposited precipitate is filtered off with suction, washed and dried. The dye obtained in this way forms an almost black powder which is insoluble in water and organic solvents, is easily soluble in concentrated sulfuric acid with a clear blue color and dyes cotton in real black-brown shades from the red-brown hydrosulfite vat.
