  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen     Azofarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen neuen       Azofarbstoff    erhält, wenn man auf     4-Benzyl-          phenol        diazotiertes        4-Amino-3.2'-dimethyl-          1    .     1'-azobenzol    einwirken     lässt.     



  Der neue Farbstoff stellt ein     orange-          braunes    Pulver dar; auf Baumwolle herge  stellt erzeugt der neue Farbstoff gelbbraune  Töne.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  26,3 Teile     4-Amino-3.2'-dimethyl-1.1'-          azobenzolchlorhydrat        werden    wie üblich     di-          azotiert.    Die filtrierte     Diazoniumlösung        lässt     man einfliessen in eine Lösung von 18,4 Tei  len     4-Benzylphenol,    10 Teilen     Natriumhy-          drogyd,    5 Teilen     Natriumcarbonat        in    200 Tei  len Wasser. Der gebildete Farbstoff fällt so-    fort aus, wird filtriert, gewaschen und ge  trocknet.

   Er bildet ein     orangebraunes    Pulver,  das aus Benzol kristallisiert, bei<B>183</B> bis 185    schmilzt.
