  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen     Azofarbstoffes.       Es wurde gefunden, dass man einen neuen       Azofarbstoff    erhält, wenn man auf     4-Benzyl-          phenol        tetrazotiertes        4.4'-Diamino-2'-me-          thyl    -     ä'-        methogy-1    .     1'-azobenzol    einwirken  lässt.  



  Der neue Farbstoff stellt     ein        dunkel-          braunes    Pulver dar; auf Baumwolle. herge  stellt erzeugt der neue Farbstoff     rotstichig     braune Töne.  



  <I>Beispiel:</I>  12,8 Teile 4.     4'-Diamino-2'-methyl-5'-me-          thoxy-1        .1'-azobenzol    werden wie üblich     te-          trazotiert.    Die filtrierte     Diazoniumlösung     lässt man einfliessen in     eine        Lösung    von 18.4  Teilen     4-Benzylphenol,    10 Teilen Natrium  hydroxyd, 5 Teilen     Natriumcarbonat    in 200  Teilen Wasser. Der gebildete     Farbstoff    fällt    sofort aus, wird filtriert, gewaschen und ge  trocknet.

   Er     bildet    ein     dunkelbraunes    Pulver,  das aus Chlorbenzol kristallisiert, bei 199 bis  201       schmilzt.

Der neue Farbstoff stellt ein dunkelbraunes Pulver dar; auf Baum wolle hergestellt erzeugt der neue Farbstoff rotstichigbraune Töne.
