Description
Nozzle for internal combustion engine carburetor. The subject of the invention is a nozzle for an internal combustion engine carburetor.
The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example, two embodiments.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section of a first embodiment shown mounted against the inner wall of a usual pipe 2 of a carburetor, the adjusting butterfly valve of which is shown at 3, the fuel inlet being indicated at 4 .
Fig. 2 is a top view, and FIG. 3 a view from below of FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 shows a second embodiment arranged in a pipe of a carburetor.
The outer and inner surfaces of the nozzle 1 shown in FIG. 1 to 3 are each composed of two frustoconical parts joined by their small base, the outer surface being such that it leaves between it and the inner surface of the pipe 2 in which it is placed, an air passage chamber 5 additional. The extreme end of the nozzle has teeth 9 coming into contact with the interior surface of the pipe, openings 7 being formed between the teeth 9 for the passage of additional air from the chamber 5 into the pipe. At its other extreme end, the nozzle has teeth 8 coming into contact with the pipe, openings 6 being made between these teeth 8 for the entry of additional air into chamber 5.
As shown in tests, the use of the nozzle shown improves the filling of the explosion chamber; not creating vortices, it does not disturb the aspiration but, on the contrary, accelerates it; it does not cause depression between it and the pipe; finally, it allows the additional call for air to wipe the condensation of the gases on the pa king of the pipe and to saturate it to improve the carburetion by the almost complete use of the fuel.
With the nozzle shown in fig. 4, the additional air always escapes through outlet openings 7, but the nozzle has a part 10 which is such that its outer surface is in contact with the inner surface of the pipe, so that the passage of the additional air only prevails over a portion 5. of this nozzle, communicating, on the one hand, with the openings 7, on the other hand, with the outside air through or 6. vertures in the wall of the pipe 2.
With this embodiment, the additional air inlet could be adjusted to the hub of a perforated ring 11, making it possible to uncover or close the openings 6a more or less, either by hand or by a automatic control linked to the movements of the usual throttle.
