Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer im Kern substituierten aromatischen Sulfonsäure. Es wurde gefunden, dass man eine im Kern substituierte aromatische Sulfonsäure erhält, wenn man auf den p-Octadecylphenyl- methyläther der Formel 018H37. 06H4 - 0 . CHs, wie er erhältlich ist durch Methylieren des Kondensationsproduktes aus Octadecen-1.2 und Phenol, Chlorsulfonsäure einwirken lässt.
Die durch Umsetzung mit Ätzalkalien, z. B. Natronlauge, Kalilauge entstehenden Alkalisalze sind wasserlöslich und hervor ragend kapillaraktiv. Sie sind besonders als Wasch- und Netzmittel zu verwenden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In 73 Gewichtsteile des p-Octadecylphe- ny1methyläthers, erhalten durch Methylieren des Kondensationsproduktes aus Octadecen- 1.2 und Phenol, werden 29 Gewichtsteile Chlorsulfonsäure langsam eingetragen, so dass die Temperatur 400 nicht übersteigt. Sobald das Reaktionsprodukt klar wasserlöslich ge worden ist, was etwa nach 1 Stunde der Fall ist, versetzt man mit der gleichen Menge Wasser und neutralisiert mit Natronlauge. Nach dem Eindampfen erhält man ein ganz wenig gelbstichiges Pulver von vorzüglichen Wascheigenschaften.

It has been found that an aromatic sulfonic acid substituted in the nucleus is obtained if one uses the p-octadecylphenyl methyl ether of the formula 018H37. 06H4 - 0. CHs, as it can be obtained by methylating the condensation product of octadecene-1,2 and phenol, allowing chlorosulfonic acid to act.
The reaction with caustic alkalis, z. B. caustic soda, caustic potash resulting alkali salts are water-soluble and excellent capillary activity. They are particularly useful as detergents and wetting agents.
<I> Example: </I> 29 parts by weight of chlorosulfonic acid are slowly introduced into 73 parts by weight of the p-octadecylphenyl methyl ether, obtained by methylating the condensation product of octadecene 1,2 and phenol, so that the temperature does not exceed 400. As soon as the reaction product has become clearly water-soluble, which is the case after about 1 hour, the same amount of water is added and the mixture is neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution. After evaporation, a very slightly yellowish powder with excellent washing properties is obtained.
