Description

Process for the production of cellulose which can be dyed with acidic dyes. It has been found that cellulose which can be dyed with acidic dyes is obtained if cellulose is impregnated with a solution of methylolchloroacetamide, the material thus treated is heated and then treated with pyridine.

The cellulose treated in this way, a solid, colorless material, has basic properties and can be dyed in deep, genuine tones with acidic dyes, such as acidic wool dyes.

For the specified process, protection is only claimed insofar as it is not a question of a treatment of textile fibers for the purpose of their finishing that is suitable for the textile industry. Example: Cellulose is removed in an aqueous 10 to 20% solution of methylolchloracetamide containing 0.5% formic acid at 30-400 for 15-30 minutes, squeezed off, first dried at 50-601) and then for 4 hours on 110-1150 he heats up. The material is then rinsed in boiling hot water, centrifuged and, moist or dry, placed in pyridine at <B> 60-80 '</B>.

After 1/2 hours of exposure, the cellulose is squeezed off and rinsed again in boiling hot water and dried.

The cellulose treated in this way, a solid, colorless material, has basic properties and can be dyed in deep, genuine shades with acidic dyes, such as acidic wool dyes.
