Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines neuen Kondensationsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein neues Kondensationsprodukt erhält, wenn man Öl- säuremethylolamid in Gegenwart einer Säure auf Thioharnstoff einwirken lässt.
Die LTmsetzung wird zweckmässig in Gegenwart eines Lösungsmittels, wie Alkohol, Eisessig, vorgenommen.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt stellt in Form des Chlorhydrates eine halbfeste Masse dar, die in organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Alkohol, Eisessig, Dioxan, leicht löslich ist und von warmem Wasser zu eitler opalescen- ten, beim Schütteln stark schäumenden Lösung aufgenommen wird, die sich beim Kochen oder auf Zusatz von Alkalien unter Bildung einer in Wasser unlöslichen Verbindung zer setzt.
Das neue Kondensationsprodukt kann als Textilhilfsstoff, insbesondere zum wasch echten Weich- und Wasserabstossendmachen von Textilien, Anwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 3,1 Teile Ölsäuremethylolamid und 1,5 Teile Thioharnstoff werden in 20 Vol.-Teilen Alkohol gelöst und unter Rühren bei 50-55o 2 Teile 25 o/oige alkoholische Salzsäure zuge geben. Nach 20 Minuten wird der Alkohol im Vakuum abdestilliert, wobei das Konden sationsprodukt als halbfeste Masse zurück bleibt, die in warmem Wasser unter Bildung stark schäumender opalescenter Lösungen löslich ist.
Das neue Produkt löst sich auch in orga nischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Alkohol, Eis essig, Dioxan usw. Beim Kochen der wässe rigen Lösung oder auf Zusatz von Alkalien zerfällt das neue Produkt unter Bildung eines in Wasser völlig unlöslichen Körpers.
Process for the production of a new condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product is obtained if oleic acid methylolamide is allowed to act on thiourea in the presence of an acid.
The reaction is expediently carried out in the presence of a solvent such as alcohol or glacial acetic acid.
The new condensation product is a semi-solid mass in the form of the chlorohydrate, which is easily soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, glacial acetic acid, dioxane and which is absorbed by warm water to form a vain, opalescent solution that foams strongly when shaken and which dissolves when boiled or on the addition of alkalis with the formation of a compound insoluble in water zer sets.
The new condensation product can be used as a textile auxiliary, in particular for making textiles really soft and water-repellent.
<I> Example: </I> 3.1 parts of oleic acid methylolamide and 1.5 parts of thiourea are dissolved in 20 parts by volume of alcohol and 2 parts of 25% alcoholic hydrochloric acid are added with stirring at 50-55 °. After 20 minutes, the alcohol is distilled off in vacuo, the condensation product remaining as a semi-solid mass which is soluble in warm water to form strongly foaming opalescent solutions.
The new product also dissolves in organic solvents such as alcohol, glacial acetic acid, dioxane, etc. When the aqueous solution is boiled or when alkalis are added, the new product disintegrates, forming a body that is completely insoluble in water.
