Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Gemisches höhermolekularer Sulfonsäuren. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein Gemisch höhermolekularer Sulfonsäuren erhält, wenn man Schwefeldioxyd und Sauerstoff gleich zeitig auf ein Gemisch von gesättigten ali- phatischen gohlenwasserstoffen, die bei 220 bis $20 sieden, unter Belichtung mit photo aktiven Strahlen einwirken lässt.
Das gebil dete Sulfonsäuregemisch besitzt kapillar aktive Eigenschaften und kann gegebenen falls nach der Neutralisierung in der Textil industrie Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In einer schmalen hohen zylindrischen Apparatur aus Jenaer Glas, die im untern Teil mit einer Glasfritte zur Einleitung von Gasen und im obern Teil mit einer eingebau ten Kühlschlange versehen ist, werden 600 Ge wichtsteile eines Gemisches von gesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen, das durch Nachhydrie rung einer von 220-ä20 C siedenden Frak tion des durch Umsetzung von Kohlenoxyd mit Wasserstoff erhältlichen Kohlenwasser stoffgemisches gewonnen wird, eingefüllt und mit einem Gasgemisch, das auf 2 Mol Schwe feldioxyd 1 Mol Sauerstoff enthält,
unter dauernder Bestrahlung mit einer .Qlaecksilber- dampflampe behandelt. Man beobachtet eine rasch zunehmende Gelbfärbung des Kohlen wasserstoffgemisches bei gleichzeitiger Öl- abscheidung. Durch Extraktion des Reaktions gemisches mit wässerigem Methylalkohol .ge winnt man eine Lösung, die nach Entfernung des Schwefeldioxyds und der angewandten Lösungsmittel mit Natronlauge neutralisiert und zur Trockne verdampft wird. Man erhält so ein Gemisch von Natriumsalzen der Sul- fonsäuren der angewandten Kohlenwasser stoffe mit Natriumsulfat.
Process for the production of a mixture of high molecular weight sulfonic acids. It has been found that a mixture of higher molecular weight sulfonic acids is obtained if sulfur dioxide and oxygen are allowed to act simultaneously on a mixture of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbons, which boil at 220 to $ 20, with exposure to photoactive rays.
The formed sulfonic acid mixture has capillary-active properties and can be used in the textile industry if necessary after neutralization.
<I> Example: </I> In a narrow, tall cylindrical apparatus made of Jena glass, which is provided in the lower part with a glass frit for introducing gases and in the upper part with a built-in cooling coil, 600 parts by weight of a mixture of saturated Hydrocarbons obtained by post-hydrogenation of a fraction of the mixture of hydrocarbons obtainable by reacting carbon monoxide with hydrogen boiling from 220 to 20 C and filled with a gas mixture which contains 1 mol of oxygen for every 2 mol of sulfur dioxide,
Treated under continuous irradiation with a .llac silver vapor lamp. A rapidly increasing yellow coloration of the hydrocarbon mixture is observed with simultaneous oil separation. By extracting the reaction mixture with aqueous methyl alcohol, a solution is obtained which, after removing the sulfur dioxide and the solvents used, is neutralized with sodium hydroxide solution and evaporated to dryness. A mixture of sodium salts of the sulphonic acids of the hydrocarbons used with sodium sulphate is thus obtained.
