Description

Machine for shelling cereals into grains. The present invention relates to a machine. shell cereals into grains, comprising a horizontal shelling drum, surrounded at least partially by a mantle, the drum and the mantle being movable with respect to each other, and, the drum having at least one groove for the hulling of the grains, characterized in that the cage hulling drum has the same diameter over its entire length, the groove for the hulling having a depth and length such that the grains are completely hulled at 'exit end of the drum.

The object of the invention lends itself very well to the husking of the grains originating from the ears of rice, an operation which consists in ridding the gain of its gluinella or husks in which it is tightly enveloped.

The appended schematic drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the machine which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is an end view of the first embodiment.

Fig. 2 is an elevational view, partially in axial section, of the embodiment of the fi. 1.

Fig. 3 shows, part in vertical longitudinal section by the axis and part in elevation, the second embodiment.

Fig. 4 is. an end view, from the left <in fig. 3, with a partial schematic section of the upper part. Fig. 5 is a partial perspective view of a detail of the. machine.

In fig. 1 and 2, a cylindrical ticage decor drum 1. (rotor) is fixed on a rotating shaft ?. The assembly is placed in a frame 3. The hulling drum is provided with a wear-resistant rubber layer 4-, approximately 20 mm thick. Opposite this drum 1, there is mounted a hulling segment 5, coated with emery or another similar material, mounted so as to be able to rotate on a shaft 6. The rotor 1 has a hulling groove formed by ledges that protrude about 20 mm above the rubber lining 4 of drum 1.

The inner surface (the segment to be peeled 5 is shaped so that the space formed between this segment and the rubber coating 4 is narrowest towards the middle and widens towards both ends. The position of the segment to be shelled can be controlled and adjusted by a fine adjustment device consisting of a threaded pin 7 passing through a threaded lug 8 presented by the frame 3 and controlled by means of a hand wheel 9 A lever locking device 10 makes it possible to fix the position of the threaded shaft 7. A res out 11 constantly tends to move the segment away from the rotor 1.

Above the drum 1 is arranged a feed hopper 12, introducing the grain cereals between the drum and the segment 5. The hopper 12 is, spun on bars 13, capable of tilting around shafts 13a, fixed. in the frame 3 and manaauvrable using an adjustment device, also. coï- titué by a threaded shaft 14 integral with a steering wheel. hand and carrying a stopper 14a., said. axis 14 through. a threaded lug 15 of the frame 3 of the machine. A spring 16 tends to constantly pull the bars 13 towards the drum 1.

Thanks to this arrangement, it is possible to modify the distance separating the outlet end of the feed hopper 12 from the drum 1. In the lowest position of the hopper 12, the distance from the latter to the drum. 1 is only 1. mm, so that the cereal grains cannot flow out.

At the bottom of the segment. 5 is mounted a guide plate 17, which serves to bring the husked grains to the discharge port 17a of the frame 3, where they leave the machine to then be freed of impurities by the action of a neck air rant.

There is shown in FIGS. 3 to 5 a second embodiment of the machine according to the invention, in which 1.8 is a horizontal cylindrical hulling drum, mounted on a shaft 19. The wall of the drum 18 is perforated with small holes 20, which communicate with the spaces between helical guide turns 21. The part of the interior space of the drum 18, which is placed below the first four turns 22, is separated by a partition 23 from the internal space of the drum located below the active turns which carry out the processing. The turns 22 can be designated as input turns.

The helically shaped space located between these input turns 22 has inlet openings 43 in its periphery. Between the - inlet openings 43 are wall parts 44. The cereal grains, brought by a hopper 31 into the drum under the inlet turns 22, are regularly introduced into the active turns, and. an accumulation or obstruction at the east entrance. thus avoided.

Between the drum 18 and the casing there is a husking tank 23i, est. left a space of 11/2 111111 or so. The casing 233 is perforated to be able to let escape per of the air used for cleaning the grains. Vis-à-vis the input turns 22, the shelling tank 23i 'is full, that is to say not perforated. The drum 18, supported by the rotating shaft. 19, pivots in 11n casing 24. The husking tank 233 is attached to this casing.

In the vertical median plane of the shelling tank 23, an opening 25 is formed, extending over the entire length of the tank and in which is placed an expansion sheath (pipe) which can be closed by a cover 27 provided. a plate 28. This plate 28 has a general wedge shape, and. it is arranged to act by means of two cams 29 on 11r1 lever 30 (fig: 3).

In the feed hopper 31, mounted on the front face of the housing 24, a pet valve 32 is mounted so as to be able to turn around an axis 33. The valve 32 is provided with an arm 34 provided at its end free of a roller 35, which rests on the lever 30. As soon as material congestion occurs in the groove between the helical guide turns 21, this repous material will be upwards the plate 28 and the cover 27. From therefore, the lever 30 is lifted and pushes the roller 35 and the arm 3-1 upwards, so that the valve 32 further closes the feed opening of the hopper 31.

Cereals ë11 grains penetrate in less quantity through the orifices 43, into the helical inlet turns 22 and this makes it possible to unclog the groove formed by the turns 21.

The air used for cleaning, charged with dust and husks, is led downwards passing an annular space 36 (fig. 4), and letting the waste of which it is. loaded into three trays 37 provided for the husking drum. The cleaned and shelled grains are. conducted through the helical groove 21 to a discharge hopper 33. The air used for the cleaning work has a bank in the shelling drum 15, through a hollow part 39 of the shaft 19, which is pierced with openings 40. The hollow part 39 of the shaft 19 communicates with a pipe 41, connected to a compressor 42.

In another form of execution, one could. run the machine with a rotating hulling tank 23a and a stationary drum lb, or by returning. these two moving parts and giving different speeds to the tank and to the drum. The surface (the path over which the cereals in grains will have to pass, can be executed in the form of a grater for shelling, or else one could cover this bottom with rubber, emery, brushes or felt.

In the feed hopper 31, an electromagnet can be placed in order to extract the particles of ter possibly contained in the cereal grains.

Under the action of a fan, air is pushed through the grain cereals on their path. helical, and. good cooling is obtained in this way, while eliminating dust, pods and impurities.
