Jumping hand clockwork movement. The object of the present invention is a watch movement with jumping hand, in. in particular a movement in which said needle is integral with a moving body included in an additional gear train driven by an energy accumulator mounted on the axis of one of the moving parts of the finishing gear train. Movement.
clockwork making. the object of the invention is characterized by a toothed wheel, integral with another mobile of the movement and meshing with two pinions each provided with an eccentric which, these eccentrics alternately letting escape, at regular intervals, the last mobile of the train additional gears.
The appended drawing, containing only the details necessary for an understanding of the invention, represents, by way of example, a watch movement constituting one embodiment of the watch movement forming the subject of the invention. invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial plan view of this embodiment.
Fig. 13 shows, on an enlarged scale, a detail of FIG. 1.
Fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II of FIG. 1.
The watch shown with the jumping second hand is of a common type in which the balance, not shown, receives 18,000 beats per hour, that is to say five per second. The jumping second hand, not shown, is mounted on an axis 1 of a second mobile located at the center of the movement of the watch. Axis 1 pivots in a second bridge 2 and crosses axis 3 of large wheel 4 in the manner known in watches with a central second hand. The axis 3 of the wheel 4 is in turn pivoted in the plate 5 and in the finishing bridge 6. It carries a pinion 7 in engagement with the barrel of the watch, not shown.
The wheel 4 drives a small medium wheel 8, the pivot 9 of which, located on the bridge side, carries a tigeron 10. The small medium wheel 8 drives the field wheel, not shown, which in turn drives an anere wheel. 11 of the common type, that is to say with fifteen teeth. Such an anchor wheel therefore performs one revolution in six seconds with the escapement indicated.
In addition to the gear train of the finishing just described, the com movement takes an additional gear train and an exhaust device. The additional gear train comprises an energy storage device and the second mobile which is the last mobile.
The energy storage device is rigidly fixed by its shaft 12 on the shank 10 of the small medium wheel. It consists of a wheel 13 rotated idly on the shaft 12, a ferrule 14 integral with the shaft 12 and a spiral spring 15, one end of which is attached to the ferrule 14 and the other to a riveted stud 16. in the wheel 13.
This wheel 13 is engaged with a pinion 17 of the second mobile. The latter comprises, in addition, a plate 18 with thirty teeth of square profile, uniformly distributed. These teeth are engaged with two eccentrics of the exhaust system.
The exhaust device is controlled by a wheel 19 integral with the anchor wheel and coaxial with. this one. This wheel 1.9 so simultaneously drives two pinions 20, 21. The axis of the anchor wheel is. pivoted in the plate 5 and in an anchor bridge 22, a little higher than the bridge, finishing 6. The pinions 20 and 21 are. pivoted in the finishing deck 6 and in the anchor deck 22.
These pinions 20 and 21 carry said eccentrics which constitute the actual escapement device. These eccentrics are. respectively constituted by identical portions 23, 24 of the axes of the pinions 20 and 21. Each portion is cut in faith-me semi-cylindrical.
The wheel 19 and the pinions 20 and 21 are chosen such that said pinions make exactly three turns during. that the. wheel 19 makes it one. This amounts to saying that these pinions make one revolution in two seconds.
By observing the movement of the watch from the bridge side, as in fig. 1 and 1a, the plate 18 and the field wheel rotate counterclockwise, the anchor wheel 11, the wheel 19 and the pinions 20 and 21 with their respective eccentric moving in the direction indicated by arrows.
The gears 20 and 21 are set. in place with the anere wheel and. the. wheel 19 such that the eccentrics 23 and. 24 occupies relative positions corresponding to those shown in dotted lines in FIG. la, one of these eccentrics penetrating inside the path of the teeth of the plate 18 and the other being. outside of this path.
Given the. rate of oscillations of the balance, the anchor releases the anere wheel every fifth of a second and said anchor wheel advances each time by half a step. That. means that the eccentrics are turning. then at an angle of 36 each time the new year releases a tooth from the anchor wheel. The position of the eccentrics shown in strong lines in fig. la corresponds to a position in which the anchor wheel is blocked by the anchor.
In this position, the eccentric 24 blocks the tooth 25 of the plate 18 against the action of the spiral spring 15, which is mounted in place with sufficient initial tension to prevent a second from moving back, for example under the action of a shock undergone by the watch when the eccentric 23 and 24 occupy the respective positions shown in dotted lines at the fi-.
111. The dimensions of the teeth called plate 18 and those of the eccentrics 23 and 21 as well as the arrangement of the latter are chosen such that only a slight play remains between the eccentric 23 and the face 26 of the tooth. 27, in the position described, this so that said dimensions are. such that said teeth and said eccentrics offer satisfactory resistance. In other words, the sum of the diameter of the axis of one of the pinions 20, 21 and the. width of a tooth 25 is very slightly less than the half-pitch of plate 18.
When the anchor releases the anchor wheel in the. position shown in strong lines in FIG. la, the two eccentrics rotate 36 in the direction of the arrows and come to the position shown in dotted lines, in which the eccentric 24 releases la. tooth 25 of the plate 18. The latter then advances under the action of the spiral spring 15 by an amount corresponding to half a step, until the moment when the face 28 of the tooth 29 abuts against the eccentric 23 .
It should be noted that the eccentrics remain. in the position shown in dotted lines for an extended time, before. to advance a new step then the next impulse of the anchor wheel, so that the plate 18 itself has time to advance in its new position.
After five pulses from the anchor wheel to. From the position shown in dotted lines, the eccentric 23 will release the tooth 29 and it will be. again the eccentric 24 which will block tooth 30. The example described relates to a watch with a center hand beating the second, but it is quite clear that the mechanism described could be adapted without difficulty to cases where said jumping hand would not be placed in the center of the movement of the watch, or would not beat the second, but would advance one step at regular intervals of time,
different from one second. It would also be possible to apply without difficulty the mechanism described to watches including. the exhaust a. a rate different from that indicated above.
In addition, this same mechanism could be provided in a clockwork movement of any kind.
Finally, the spiral spring 15 of the energy storage device could be replaced by a straight spring., Secured to the screw 14 and pressing against a solid pin of the wheel 13.
