Description

1 et \I.

Elastic sheath. This invention relates to an elastic sheath such as a corset, a corselet or a belt.

1.1 is customary to manufacture elastic sheaths ticks from elastic fabric in two directions, that is to say of fabric having a main elasticity along the width and a substantially elasticity. reduced or limited depending on the key depth of the sheath. The sheath forming the subject of the invention is made of such a fabric.

A considerable number of methods have already been proposed and used for the manufacture (elastic sheaths, in order to ensure an effect on the shape of the user's abdomen, and to obtain correction of his line using reinforcement parts incorporated into the body (the sheath.

In some well-known constructions, these reinforcing parts have. been reinforced with bones, ribbons or other organs. These organs contribute very significantly to the increase in the production price of ai. sheath, of the fact. inevitable machining operations and complex general constructions of the. complete sheath resulting from the in elusion of such reinforcing parts.

The sheath doing. the object of the invention is. characterized in what it is. constituted by a single piece of elastic fabric in both directions and in that it comprises a front part.

of double thickness formed by the two end parts of said part, these parts being, arranged so that the directions of their respective elastic threads are inclined in opposite directions, so that a pressure directed inward and green the top acts on the abdominal region of a user wearing the sheath, so as to correct the line of this user.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the sheath forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of this embodiment, with cutaway. Fig. 2 is a front elevational view thereof.

Fig. 3 is an elevational view from the rear.

Fig. 4 is a plan view of the piece of fabric. unique from which this embodiment is made.

The hg. 5 and 6 are schematic views showing the superposition of the ends of the piece of fabric to form the sheath, the latter being seen from the outside and from the inside respectively.

The embodiment shown is constituted by a permanent tubular body 5, formed so as to be able to surround and come into contact with the trunk of a user, particularly in the abdominal part of this trunk.

The elastic thread of the fabric of the. sheath is shown schematically by parallel lines 6 which extend around the. sheath shown in fig. 1 to .3, and longitudinally in the piece of fabric shown in FIG. 4.

As can be seen in FIG. 4, the piece of fabric or blank for the body 5 is cut or formed in a substantially usual manner, with the exception of its ends 7 and 8 which are formed by two angularly similar end parts 7a-7b and Sa-8b. Parts 7a and 8cr. extend from the upper side 9 of the blank and the parts 7b and <RTI

   ID = "0002.0015"> 8b from its lower side 10.

To form the tubular body 5 from the cut blank shown in FIG. 4, the angular ends 7 and 8 are brought closer to each other and are assembled so as to be superimposed, the end 8 being on the end 7 and the latter is hole vant. below end 8, as shown in fig. 5 and 6.

The angular ends 7 and 8 are then each sewn onto the main trunk or body of the. sheath, as shown at 11, to form a quadrilateral-shaped reinforcing part generally designated by the reference sign 12 and. arranged in the middle of the front part of the sheath, so as to fit on the user's abdominal region.

In 1-a completed sheath, the reinforcing part 12 is. defined by the seam lines 11, and we realize that this part is double thickness and is. constituted by two surfaces in the form of a quadrilateral 13 and 14 of the opposite ends of the blank, these qua drilaterals being limited by the angular ends 7 and 8 and by pointed lines 15 and 16.

When forming the front part 12 in the manner described, it is important that the body 5 takes a substantially truncated shape, so that the directions of the elastic threads in the back part of the. sheath are substantially horizontal or concentric with the axis of the body of the sheath, as shown in. fig. 3.

In the frontal part of the body of the sheath and. under the effect. of the shape imposed on it by the shape of the trunk of the user, it is necessary, on the contrary that the direc tions of the elastic son be inclined downwards, going towards the end of the chaetuie of the end parts of the. part of which the sheath is made, and that they extend towards the double-thickness part 12 and across this part going downwards and.

in opposite inclined directions, as shown in Figs. 1 and \ I.

Thus, the directions of the elastic threads 8 in each of the end portions forming the double thickness portion 12 are in continuation of those of the elastic threads of each portion of the front of the body 5 extending to.

from this part of double thickness seur, so that the inclination of the directions of the elastic threads in each of the parts of this part of double thickness is opposite yen. the inclination of the directions of the elastic threads in]: 'another part of this part of double thickness, as can be seen in f.ig. 7 and. ?.

Therefore, the main direction of extension of the elastic threads in each of the parts of the part (the double ply 12 and. In each of the end parts taken in isolation from the elastic fabric piece is substantially the same, but tilted in the opposite direction. to, the main direction of ex tension of the elastic son of the other of these end parts.

As we can see at the. fig. 2, the direction of extension of the parts forming the double thickness part is inclined upwards towards the sides 17 and 78 of the sheath. This provision has. the goal. sought to exert a traction directed upwards and inwards and a pressure on the frontal part inclined downwards and inwards of the key body the user, in order to correct the line of this one.

binds high. of the body 5 of the sheath is provided with a peripheral edge 19 which is sewn to it and which is made of the same material, and normal suspension bands 20 are attached to the lower end of this body.

In fig. 4, lines 21 define. the limits of the part of the piece intended to form the back or rear part of the sheath. The opposite ends described above of the piece of elastic fabric or blanks to form the body of the sheath are angular in shape or contour.

It is. however obvious. that the ends of this blank could. also be curved in shape or include curved parts in angular relation to each other so as to give the. part of double thickness a determined desired shape.
