Description

Or,

   Pour obtenir ce résultat, il est ordi  nairement avantageux de réduire l'épaisseur  de la garnitureà l'endroit du pli dela     man-          ehette.       Plusieurs formes d'exécution de l'objet de  l'invention sont représentées,à titre d'exem  ple, au dessin annexé dans lequel:  La     fig.   1 est une vue de face partiellement  arrachée de la manchette suivant une pre  mière forme d'exécution;  La     fig.    2 est une coupe     c'te    la manchette  représentée en     fig.   1, cette coupe étant     sché-          matique    et étalée pour plus de clarté;

    La     fig.   3 est une coupe analogueà ]k       fig.    2, mais montrant la     manchetCe    repliée;  ' La     fig.    4 est une vue en perspective d'une  manchette employée avec le     second'revers     tourné en dedans;  La     fig.   5 est une vue de face d'une  deuxième forme d'exécution (le la     maùellette     partiellement déchirée;

    La fig. 6 est une -vue analogueà la fig. 5 d'une troisième forme d'exécution;- La fig. 7 est une vue de face schématique d'une manchette montrant une autre forme d'exécution; Les fig. 8 et9 sont des coupes transver sales de détail de la garniture, la montrant respectivement droite et pliée. Dans l'exemple suivant fig. 1 à 4, la man chette est représentée cousueà une manche1 et elle comprend deux faces comportant cha cune un revêtement complet2-3 de tissu extérieur, celui-ci étant ordinairement le même tissu que celui de la chemise.

      Reversible nanchette for -heililses. The subject of the invention is a reversible cuff for shirts. According to the invention, the sleeve comprises two outer faces. and an interior trim attached to the ends of said exterior faces, 1a.

   arrangement of these pieces such that they form a fold line relatively more flexible than the cuff cuffs, in order to be able to bend the latter on both sides indifferently, one of the two cuffs being fixed to < / B> the chimney sleeve. We have already made manclieties of this kind, but unless they are starched in such a way that all the thicknesses of the sleeve adhere together , they lose the beautiful appearance they should have to be of widespread use. Gold,

   it has been found that a non-starched sleeve can present such a good appearance if the interior trim is properly disposed and so that it is less visible when the sleeve is folded back.

   In order to obtain this result, it is ordinarily advantageous to reduce the thickness of the lining  at  the location of the fold of the  the  handle. Several embodiments of the object of the invention are shown,  to  by way of example, in the appended drawing in which: FIG.  1  is a front view partially broken away of the cuff according to a first embodiment; Fig. 2 is a section through the sleeve shown in FIG.  1,  this section being schematic and laid out for clarity;

    Fig.  3  is a section similar to  to ] k fig. 2, but showing the folded cuff;  ' Fig. 4 is a perspective view of a cuff used with the second back facing in; Fig.  5  is a front view of a second embodiment (the partially torn mallet;

    Fig. 6 is a -view similar to fig. 5 of a third embodiment; - FIG. 7 is a schematic front view of a cuff showing another embodiment; Figs. 8 and 9 are dirty cross-sections of trim detail, showing it straight and folded respectively. In the following example fig. 1 to 4, the sleeve is shown sewn to a sleeve 1 and it includes two sides each with a complete coating 2 -3 of outer fabric, which is usually the same fabric as that of the shirt.

   These outer fabrics are sewn together by a stitch 4; one or more pieces of packing are placed inside the inside of the pocket, thus formed, these pieces of packing closely following the edges of the pocket and being placed between the ends 6-7 < / B> of the fabric protruding inside . These trim pieces are secured in place by a 8 seam near the edge of the. pocket, so that this seam connects the ends 6 and 7 together and holds the trim pieces 12, 13 and <B between them > 15, one of the long sides being sewn to the sleeve by a continuation of the 8, seam which crosses the sleeve.

   In order to achieve the desired effect, the end of the sleeve is turned down and the 8 seam passes to through the entire cuff and sleeve. The 8 seam ends near the end of the turned-down part of the sleeve, thus completely concealing it.

  The entire combination is shown in fig. 1, - of which fig. 2 and 3 are schematic sections. The there drilled packing extends completely from one to the other end of the cuff and is perforated in 19. Near the edge of the rectangular perforations on the outside of the cuff, there is a reinforcement piece 29- which gives more rigidity to this last. This reinforcement piece does not need to completely cover the back of the sleeve, since its main purpose is to give stiffness to the free back, in the vicinity of the fold.

   The two half-fillings 12 and 13 are assembled by the weaker intermediate lining and can, moreover, be fixed by the stitching 21 to the adjacent face of headlines. The intermediate trim 18 which covers the trimmings 19- and 13 on each side of the ply, reinforces the trim and thus gives to the cuff more stiff at the place of the fold without it being bulkier anywhere else.

   The filg. to and 6 are simply diagrams and in the cuff they represent the trims and sides touch and are sewn together to their ends and at the sleeve, to obtain the appearance of a lapel at the. junction of cuff and sleeve. The inanehett, 3 has two buttonholes along each of its edges, as to ordinary.

  In the example of FIG. 5, the filling consists of two absolutely distinct pieces of fabric 12 and 13 , each of which, as can be seen on the threads. 5 and 6, covers almost half of the cuff, these pieces, however, do not come together quite to done, so to < / B> form a small pocket into which the inner lining 2 folds down slightly. Each of the trim pieces 12) and 13 is advantageously formed from # a single piece of thin muslin or similar material, the edges of which are caught in the,

    8. outer stitching These trim pieces are made of a very light material and should be â- about as soft as the key 1a outer skin. cuff so that they are not visible. If the treatment is not taken care of (proceed as indicated, the cuff will lose its natural soft appearance.

   This trim is held in place on one side of the cuff by a stitching 21 (fig. 5) or else it is retained by a lighter fabric sewn to using a 17 puncture and constituting a key retainer 18 extending from one trim to the other (fig. 6) .- There, the. trim is sewn on the other side, the stitching 21 giving to one side of the cuff a key aspect different from that of the other side. In this way, the filling does not constitute a real filling as in an ordinary starched cuff, but a simple elastic reinforcement.

   1.1 is to note that the empty space which exists between the pads 12 and 13 also prevails up to the stitching of the edges of the cuff, as can be seen clearly in fig. 5, so that these punctures naturally tend to form the fold at the desired place, when the cuff is folded, since this empty space gives less thickness to the place of the bite.

  For some types of fabric, it is beneficial to make the filling continuous, but to weaken it at the place of the fold. This can be achieved by making perforations in the filling, along the edge of the cuff. There is shown in FIG. 6 an embodiment of this kind in which the half-fittings 12 and 13 do not dye the fold of the cuff and are even away from it, d 'about two centimeters.

    The half-fittings 12 and 13 are sewn by a stitch, very inconspicuous 17 at an intermediate trim 18 which covers them by- linked to both. The outer sides completely conceal these internal stitching and thus give the cuff a very nice appearance.

   It is advantageous to obtain a more beautiful effect, that part of the filling is thicker than the rest and that this thicker part is on the back of the handle which is not not attached to the shirt, as shown in fig. 1. This thicker part is made up of a reinforcing piece 2-9 fixed by stitching 23 to the trim of which it is part .

  The fi, -. 7 to 9 show another embodiment with a one-piece lining formed from a continuous piece of fabric having a weakened part 22 which connects the other two more parts. thicker or stiffer 23. This more flexible or weaker part is found at the crease of the handle and is only a few thousand meters wide. Thanks to this arrangement, a well-defined fold line is obtained as a result of the greatest flexibility given lengthwise to the fold, which makes it possible to easily turn the cuff and to fold it neatly, even without there being any visible or noticeable difference in the appearance of the finished article.

   The fabric of the trim is woven so to, form an selvage 24 on each side (the stiff parts 23, at the edge of the fold. In this way the fold of cuff -is well z marked, lion only to causes thicker parts of the fabric compared to to the light part 22, but also as a result of the natural stiffness inherent in woven selvedges. In this way the lining is formed very simply without joining the thicknesses together by stitching, and it cannot unravel - because there is no no free edges liable to fray during repeated launderings.

  The remaining part 23 of each small stiff element, if desired, be lighter than the selvage. When the filling is made up of a single piece of fabric; as shown, the weaker part 23 may consist of only transverse threads, crossing the line of fold, of. so çon that the connection between the two main parts (the trim consists only of threads.

  This cuff has an inner face and an outer face as before, between which is the trim as described above, the gold dripping extending around most of its edges leaving only the opening which allows turn it over before making the usual injections.
