Device for transporting and laying pipes
The present invention relates to an apparatus for transporting and laying pipes, in particular concrete pipes that need to be connected and sealed to an already sealed pipe.
This device is characterized by the fact that it comprises an elongated frame, one end of which rests on at least one rolling member, the other end being provided with control handles, said frame carrying an adjustable support device arranged in such a way that it is possible to support the interior wall of a pipe previously engaged around the elongated frame, then lift and transport the pipe by acting on the control sleeves.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 represent the apparatus in elevation and in plan.
Fig. 3 is a perspective view showing the use of the apparatus for transporting and laying a pipe.
The apparatus shown comprises an elongated frame formed of two angles 1 and 2 and spacers 3 and 4. The angles 1 and 2 carry at their end (fig. 1) a yoke 6, the lower part of which is provided with a pin. 7 carrying a wheel 8.
Between the vertical wings of the angles 1, 2 is welded a hollow guide 10 of rectangular section, in which can slide a support bar 11 pierced with holes 12. The bar 11 carries, at its upper end, a support plate 13. The assembly of bar 11 and plate 13 can be locked at the desired height by means of a pin 14 passing through a perforation 15 in the guide and one of the holes 12.
The apparatus further comprises two maneuvering sleeves 16 and 17 fixed in the extension of the frame 1-2.
The cross guide 10 is slightly inclined towards the rear of the frame 1-2. The plate 13 could have a variable inclination with respect to this frame.
In fig. 3, the reference T1 designates a cement pipe sealed to the ground S and the reference
T2, a pipe of the same diameter as T1 and which must be sealed to the latter. To this end, when the pipe T2 is on the ground at a certain distance from the pipe T1, the operator engages the apparatus described above therein by rolling the wheel 8 on the inner wall of this pipe T2 so that the pipe surrounds the frame 1, 2. He then lifts the handles 16 and 17 until the inner wall of the pipe T2 rests on the plate 13. The operator then directs his device towards the pipe T1 and rolls the wheel 8 on the inner wall of the latter, as seen in FIG. 3, such that the pipes T1 and T2 have substantially the same vertical plane of symmetry.
If the adjacent ends of the two pipes touch each other, then it suffices to lower the sleeves 16 and 17 so that these pipes T1 and T2 are in the correct relative sealing position. Once the seal is complete, it is easy to remove the unit from the pipes.
I1 is obvious that one could consider variants of the form described comprising several running gear.
